On December 10, 1973, William L. Foster entered this world, born to the late Larry Foster, Sr. and Gloria D. Foster. William’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, laughter, and service. From an early age, he possessed a joyful spirit and a heart that naturally drew people to him. His contagious smile, quick wit, and loving personality made him a source of comfort and encouragement to everyone blessed to know him.
William was a proud graduate of Fairley High School. Determined to build a meaningful career, he earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which led him to travel the highways and byways of America. He drove for Greyhound and later as an over-the-road truck driver, embracing every opportunity to see the beauty of God’s creation while meeting people from all walks of life. He genuinely enjoyed life on the road and treasured the many experiences and relationships he gained throughout his journey.
Most importantly, William gave his life to Christ at a young age and made the decision to walk faithfully with the Lord. As he grew in his relationship with God, he answered the divine call upon his life and was ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s church. William loved preaching and teaching the uncompromised Word of God and found great joy in serving God’s people. His heartfelt praise, unwavering faith, and sincere love for Christ were evident in every aspect of his life.
William never met a stranger. Whether through a warm embrace, a kind word, a heartfelt prayer, or simply sharing his infectious laughter, he had a God-given gift of lifting the spirits of others. Many who crossed his path left feeling encouraged, strengthened, and reminded of God’s goodness. His life exemplified the words of Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” William’s light shined brightly, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know and love him.
William was preceded in death by his beloved father, Larry Foster, Sr., and his brother, Daniel Henderson.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. William leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved son, Chad Foster; his cherished daughter, Kayla Foster; his devoted mother, Gloria D. Foster; his loving sister, Devonne Foster; his brothers, Phillip Foster (Denise) and Larry Foster Jr. (Shana); along with a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, brothers and sisters in Christ, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by his love, faith, and unwavering encouragement.
William was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. William fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his life serves as a lasting reminder that a life surrendered to Christ leaves an eternal impact. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy of faith, love, and joy will continue to live on for generations to come.
