Wiley Clem Walls was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Greenie and Linnie Walls. His two brothers, Richard Brown and Greenie Walls, Jr., preceded him in death.
Wiley joined Mt. Moriah under the pasturage of Rev. A. D. Bell at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church – Carnes Avenue at an early age. He was very active in the church and remained faithful until his career in the United States Air Force caused him to relocate. He served our country for 26 years and retired as a master sergeant.
Wiley attended Melrose High School at 843 Dallas Street from the 1st to the 12th grades and graduated in 1949. He later attended Tennessee State University.
Wiley united in holy matrimony with the late Helen Jean Wright on December 30, 1955, and began to travel to various parts of the world as he fulfilled his military duties. During this travel, Lisa Monee’ was accepted into this union.
Wiley was a devoted husband and outstanding father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Wiley remained faithful to “Dear Melrose High” as he attended every Melrose Mass Class reunion until his wife’s health prevented her from traveling.
Wiley leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Lisa Monee’ Boyle (Derrick); adopted son, Frederick Smith (Portland, OR); three grandchildren, Courtney K. Jones, Sr. (Dallas, TX), Justin L. Moore (St, Louis, MO), Chasity L. Moore; one step-granddaughter, Anjanica Boyle; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney K, Jones, Jr., Honeyunna M. Williams, Jacksyn C. Boyle, Maverick R. Reed (deceased), Stephen R. Sangster, Malayna Tennant, and Skylar R. Sangster; plus a loving host of cousins, extended family, caregivers, friends, and church members to celebrate and remember a life well-lived.
Dear Family and Friends,
I wanted to let you know that I have moved. I received a call from God who informed me that my new home is ready and that I could move in immediately. You all know that I have been send up my timber, packing up and getting ready to go, but there were some final touches to be done. Well, my new home is finished and it is such a beautiful sight. Behold! It is located in an exclusive estate, and it sits behind the Pearly Gates. Of course, the streets are paved with gold and every day is Sunday. I have lived in many places before but none can compare. There is peace, joy and happiness everywhere. I could go on and on about my new home, but I have to get fitted for my new robe. I look forward to seeing you again. Before I go, let me give you my new address”

When we were young, you always looked so big and strong. As we grew older, we found that you were stronger on the inside, where it really counts. You were always caring and concerned.
You always put family first and did Whatever you could to comfort, guide and make us feel secure. You are the epitome of class, elegance and wisdom. We love you Always

When I look back over my life, no matter when or where, at every age and step and stage my dad was always there. He made me feel so safe and so loved. His kindness meant so much I can still hear his words of cheer and Feel his gentle touch. When I set out to bring about some special dream or plan, his pride in me was plain to see. He was my biggest fan, Whether I had news to celebrate or hopes that had been shattered. He always knew just what to do to show my feelings mattered. He hung in there to help me bear the stress and the things and stings. Still today, I’m glad to say, I feel his loving care. In the deepest part of my grateful heart My Dad is always there!
Lisa

How can I ever express the Love and admiration I have for you. You are my Love, my Heart. You’ve shown me strength, courage, faith, character, and compassion.
I will never forget your smile, your honesty, your walk, your talk , your style, your will, your song, your courage, your Love.
I will miss your face, your touch, your laughter, your kindness, but never your undying Love.
I Love You!
Chasity
A friendly smile, a casual touch, these are the things that mean so much. To know you are with us in our time of sorrow, sharing our prayers, today and tomorrow. God gives us comfort in the form of good friends and loving family. May his peace be with you, His love never ends. A special thank you to his caregiver, Keosha Shields, AKA Rose.
