My Sweet Pea
Since June 2, 2019, I’ve had to enjoy your smile—a smile so bright it radiates for miles. Your beauty was the essence of my joy, like a child playing with his new toy.
The laughter we shared shall live in my dreams as my tears combine with lakes and streams. Although you’ve ascended into the heaven above with wings of an angel, you soar like a dove.
Spring has sprung, and everywhere on earth, your spirit shall live on in life’s new birth. I see you as the sun sets in the sky. I hear you as the bird sing while flying by. I feel you as the wind touches my skin. I will forever love you from deep within, and to all who hear every word I say, Love will always be our sunshine on a cloudy day. Sugar is sweet, and so is Tea, Tarra L. King, you’re always my “Sweet Pea”. True love we found right from the start. No matter what, you’re always in my heart.
Your Husband, Terrance

Life’s Reflections
On May 11, 1978, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mr. James Johnson, Jr. and Mrs. Alice Marie Taylor Johnson welcomed a baby girl, Tarra Latrice Johnson. On April 25, 2025, at 7:26 P.M., Tarra heeded the call. She entered into His glorious presence of God, leaving her earthly home for a greater home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“Service to God”
Tarra grew up in Holiness. She was sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. In Michigan, she was a member of All Nations Temple C.O.G.I.C., pastor Luther Dean Cheney.
After her family moved to Tennessee, she became a member of Path of Life C.O.G.I.C., Pastor Billy Brooks. Later, she moved her membership to Higher Ground Worship Center C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Andre Crismon, where she served faithfully until she met the love of her life, Elder Terrance King. After this union, the two became one; their journey together was blessed tremendously. After much prayer and thought, the two as one decided to move to Memphis, Tennessee, in December 2023. They became members of the New Beginnings Fellowship Ministry C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Dr. Mose Walker, Jr.
Tarra’s service to this ministry was such a blessing. She served as a Bible Study Teacher and the Praise Team Leader, enjoying singing to our Lord and Savior. She was also a prayer warrior in her own right.
She prayed on our Tuesday night prayer line and was always the first to pray. She prayed for church growth, church finance, and most of all, a new church home. Lord, don’t let it cost too much. Also, she didn’t leave the children out. She would say, “Lord, give us a van so we can pick up the children for Sunday School and Children’s Church.”
She served with her whole heart, mind, and soul faithfully even until death.
