Sam Henry Elex Hewitt, Jr. was the first child born to the late Sam, Sr. and Forrestine Hewitt. Sam was born on June 7, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee. He accepted Christ at an early age at Tree of Life Baptist Church and attended New Bethel Baptist Church.
On Monday, July 30, 2018, Sam departed from this earthly vessel to live eternally in the presence of our Lord.
Sam was preceded in death by his father and mother Sam Sr. and Forrestine Hewitt. Sam is survived by his wife, Elnora Hewitt and two children, Terrance Walker and Tanesha Walker and four grandchildren; Christopher Walker, Terrance Walker, Jr., Delayla Shields and Tania Walker and three brothers; Wadell Hewitt (Linda), Alfonso Hewitt and Melvin Hewitt and seven aunts; Stella Davenport-Turner, Fannie Harris, and Evelyn Hughes, three uncles; Eddie Davenport (Barbara), Lucious Davenport (Cassandra), Lucinda (Leroy) Redmond, Amy Jones, Rilla Jefferson, Helen Williams, and three sisters-in-law, Stephanie Meeks (Lawrence) Patricia Monger (Melvin), Barbara Bowen (Montrell) and a host of cousins nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
