Mattox passed on October 23, 2021. He was born February
5, 1947, To the late Flora Mattox Brooks and Willie Mattox Sr. in Desoto County in Mississippi. Later, the family moved to Memphis. Roosevelt worked for the city of Memphis and multiple companies. His last career was as an independent contractor in construction.
Roosevelt was fun-loving who loved his Mother Dear and Grandma Rosie. He was always ready to stand up and protect his family at any cost. He would always tell his siblings to let him know if anybody was bothering them because he would take care of it. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. He rededicated his life to Christ at Mount Joyner Baptist Church, where Reverend Dr. Terrence L. Taylor is Pastor.
Rosevelt met his soulmate Alice Darling over 50 years ago, and he loved her daughter Tina as his own. They both preceded him in death.
Roosevelt’s son Roosevelt Mattox Junior preceded him in death, and his brothers Nathaniel Mattox, Jerome Brooks, Steven Brooks, and his younger sister Darlene Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Jeffrey Mattox (Penny), brothers, Willie Mattox (Becky), Eddie Brooks (Mary), Paul Brooks, and David Brooks (Jackie), his sisters, Gloria Brooks Carson and Mary Brooks. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
