Ronald Steppe Remembering
RonaldOllie Steppe was born on February 18, 1947 to the union of the late Squair and Mary Terrell Steppe in Vallejo, California. Ronald departed on October 26, 2016 at Methodist University at the age of 69.
Ronald graduated in the class of 1964 from Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He furthered his education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee where he majored in Music Education. He also became a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, an organization of male musicians. He was a member of the Aristocrat Band and played the clarinet.
Ronald accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Magnolia First Baptist Church and served as a devoted member. He attended Sunday School and Bible Study and was a member of the Male Chorus and The Mass Choir. He had a deep passion for music; he played for the Sunday School Department and Vacation Bible School when needed.
Ronald loved going to church, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends.
As an accomplished musician his passion for music lead him to become affiliated with a number of surrounding churches in the city of Memphis such as, Greater Gethsemane Baptist Church, St. James Baptist Church, St. John Baptist Church (on Barron), and the Unity Center of Memphis Church to name a few.
Ronald worked at his father’s family owned business, called Steppe and Sons Shoe Shop. Ronald was a skilled shoe repairman along with his brother Michael. His latest job was at C&J Trophy and Engraving, (a company owned by his sister Venita Steppe Smith) where he was an Assembly Technician.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Squair and Mary Steppe, sisters Linda S. Gilbert, and Venita S. Smith, brother in laws, Ben Gilbert and Harvey Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his brother Michael Steppe, Marilyn S. Wilson, both of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

and we all know that He loves us one and all Yet there are times when we find we answer another’s voice and call If we are willing, He will teach us His voice only to obey No matter where and He knows, yes, He knows, just how much we can bear.
