Pauline Price was born July 2, 1934, to the late James Price and Pattie Price. At a young age, she was baptized and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of Rev. Pastor James Pope. She was very active in the church as an usher. She attended Hamilton High in 1952, here in Memphis, Tennessee.
After High School, Pauline’s life pushed her in a different direction. Pauline met the love of her life, her husband, the late Leon Spight, while working at Baptist Memorial Hospital. To this union, five wonderful children were born three sons and two daughters. Pauline had a love for cooking, which took her down another career path. Pauline entered the Restaurant Industry and worked faithfully over 30 years for Piccadilly’s Cafeteria, where she retired.
Pauline’s uproarious, affectionate, and infectious personality forced her to be the center of attention, and it brought all of her family and friends some unforgettable moments. She loved to draw, paint, and color and bust a move on the dance floor. Her motto was, “Hello, Somebody!”
Pauline shared cherished memories with five brothers and one sister who preceded her in death. Leon Price, Wilford Price, James A. Price, Joseph V. Price, Jim Price, and Lillie Mae Maclin.
Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Rickey Spight (Patricia).
Her children will cherish her loving memories; Patricia Ann Mitchell, Lee Edward Spight (Vickie), Vanessa Ramsey (William), Paul Lionel Spight (Sherri), eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
