“A Special Father” People always tell me I look like you, talk like you, sing and preach like you. I pray that I positively touch people the way you did. I have always been a daddy’s boy because I admire you so. You became my friend as I grew older. We did so much alike even the medicines prescribed to us were alike. Father’s Day will never be the same without you. I truly cherish you daddy and I am grateful for every hug, smile, fatherly praise support you have ever given me. I love you and I’ll meet you on the other side.

Pastor Herman Lee Richardson, of Memphis, Tennessee, was born in a small town called Nesbit, Mississippi on May 8, 1952. He was preceded in death by both his father, Napoleon Richardson, Sr., and his mother, Lillie Mae Hill. He was the youngest of 24 children.

He was an 18 wheeler truck driver by trade. Most of his driving years were spent with Malone & Hyde, with his final years spent as a manager at Swift. Through driving, he saw the country, but his calling was much deeper.

Herman confessed hope in Christ Jesus at an early age. He married his high school sweetheart at 19yrs old, Mary Louise Tuggle. Then, before even turning 21, he accepted God’s call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

His dramatic call involved being lifted from the bed, then being dropped to the floor, while encompassed by a vision of light that brightened his extremely dark Mississippi home. From this calling, he preached all over the tri-state area for over 40 years. Known as the singing, teaching, powerhouse preacher; his tri-fold gifting was a great weight in the kingdom. At times ministering as far as the state of Virginia, he served in pastorage for over 20 years. The number of people baptized and the number of families healed under his care is too many to count (GLORY TO GOD!!)

History of Service: Hill Chapel (1yr) - Near Coldwater, MS Mt Level MBC (7yrs) - Como, MS Morgan Grove MBC (12yrs) - Hernando, MS Springhill Pope MBC (10yrs) - Pope, MS He later joined New Salem Baptist Church under Pastor Frank E. Ray where he loved to sing in the male chorus.

Herman Richardson was preceded in death by his only daughter, Consuello Richardson-Pillow (2015), and nineteen siblings preceded him in death.

He leaves to carry on the work of the kingdom, two sons; Rev. Napoleon Richardson, II (Marshal) and Pastor Timothy Roland Richardson (Min. Carol), two sisters; Louise Hilliard (Eddie), Willie Mae Oliver, two brothers; Aaron Hill and Earnest Lee Baptiste, six grandchildren; Eriona (he affectionately called her Shorty), Napoleon (aka Trey), Earnest (aka Rey), Dario, Portecia, and Italya, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

He had a deeply rooted love for FAMILY and was loved by MANY. He will truly be missed!
