You’re in my heart; you’re in my soul. But now apart, no hand to hold. I won’t forget the love you gave. I still can feel it til this day. I stand with you by my side, but know you’re watching from way up high. We will meet again for this I’m sure because our love will last and endure.
I was born April 18th, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Napoleon and Carrie Bell Harrison in the heart of Orange Mound at the home of my grandparents, The late Reverend Samuel and Corrine Thompson at 841 Josephine Street. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and was baptized at the New Era Baptist Church.
I met my wife, Vivian, with whom I was united in holy matrimony on June 28th, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois by Reverend Dr. Clay Evans. We nurtured two beautiful children, Candice Harrison Hayes (Jarius) and Nakeva Harrison Pulley, my grandsons, Kendall Byrd Harrison, Caleb Jordan Hayes, Mark Malik Pulley and my grandaughters, Desiree Harrison (Martez) Cole and Nia Iman Pulley and one Goddaughter, Felicia (Clint) Miller and children – Lakeva Casey Harris (Rodney), Kristan Jada Miller.
I loved my family; my two brothers, the late Charles (Adriana) Harrison and Michael (Barbara) Harrison; my loving aunt, Doristene Barbee who has always been there for me and all of those who preceded me in death.
I shared a great bond with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, dear cousins, friends, church members and colleagues, but on September 29th, 2017, in Palliative Care at ECM Hospital, I gave it all up to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I left this earth realm and returned to my Creator. When the Master called, “I answered.”
Be encouraged and remember, “It’s Going To Be Alright.”
