Mother Mildred Williams was born May 2, 1938, to the late Edward and Madie Bunch Williams.
She was a member of the Temple Church of God in Christ under the pastorage of Elder Charles Harrison Mason, Sr.
After her mother passed, she joined Pillow of Faith Evangelical Deliverance Church for over 30 years under the pastorate of Dr. Robert E. Lowery Sr. She was dedicated to the children she worked with for more than 34 years. She also worked with children with special needs at the University of Memphis and the Duration School.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, three sisters: Gloria Thomas, Aline Winfrey, and Lois Williams, her devoted caregiver; niece, Lisa Lott, nephews, Sherman Lott and Larry Thomas, a host of cousins in Brownsville, Tennessee; best friend, Sandra Spearman, a host of loving friend, Ingrid Bryson, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mildred answered the call by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 19, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her memory will live on through each of us.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see. If the sun should rise and find your eyes are filled with tears for me, i wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say I know how much you love me, as much as I love you; And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came down and called my name and took me by the hand, I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turn to walk away, a tear fell from my eye. I had so much to live for, and yet so much to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had, So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.
