My Daddy

I will miss you more than words can say.

In Loving Memory of My Very Special Husband, Michael

I could write a million pages

But there’s one thing I would say

Just how much I love and miss you

Every single day

You were my firm foundation

Throughout the storms of life

A sturdy hand to hold onto

In times of stress and strife

A true friend I could turn to

In times of good and bad

One of my life’s greatest blessings

The best husband I could have had

So, I want to say, “thank you, honey”

For being just what God intended, Because right now my heart is broken, But I believe that He will mend it.

Rest Well, Michael.

Your Wifey, Constance (Niecy)

I wish we had more time for you to stay. In quiet moments, I still hear your voice, Reminding me to smile, to laugh, and to make the right choice.

You were my teacher, my biggest fan, my friend

The one who believed in me until the very end. You showed me strength, you showed me grace, And left me with a love that I can never replace.

Life feels different without you here, But your spirit stays so warm and feels so near. In every laugh, in every tear, It’s clear — your love still lives right here.

So today, I honor you with all my heart, Though you’ve left me here, we’re never apart. Thank you for everything, for all you’ve done — I’ll carry your light, as your daughter, your number one.

Love You Til Eternity, Candice

My Grandaddy in the Sky

My Grandaddy was the best of all, He’d catch me when I’d trip or fall. He told me jokes and made me grin, And loved me so much, he was my bestest friend.

He’d hold my hand and walk with me, And show me things I’d never see. Now he’s up high, beyond the blue, But Grandaddy, I will still talk to you.

I see your face in stars at night, You twinkle with a gentle light. I’ll love you always, yes I do— My heart still keeps a hug for you.

Love, Chloe (JuJu)

To Our Beloved Granddaddy,

The laughter, joy, and jokes you blessed us with Will forever be embedded in our hearts and minds. That hard shell and soft blue-tinted eyes, From your caps and curls to that grin we all adored Truly one of a kind, one of one. You carried wisdom in your words and strength in your stance, Teaching us that love shows up in action, not just chance. Through every season, every storm, you stood tall Our protector, our provider, our foundation through it all. We take these memories and live on, Carrying your generous spirit with us each and every day.

In every laugh that echoes, in every story retold, We’ll feel your presence gentle, proud, and bold. Thankful that God blessed us with you, Now you’re home, watching over us, true. Your job isn’t over; you just changed your view Our guardian angel, still doing what you do. We love you forever and always, OG. Your legacy runs deep, your name stays strong Though you’ve gone to glory, your love lives on.

Life’s Reflections

Michael Wayne Shaw was born on September 27, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, to his late parents George and Larcenia Shaw. He was the secondborn of five children. Michael is preceded in death by his parents and three younger siblings, Timothy, Gregory, and Sharon Shaw. Michael attended Christian Unity Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend William Edwards, where he accepted Christ.

Michael attended Manassas High School and was a part of the class of 1975. He was a dedicated employee for the City of Memphis, where he worked for 25 years. After leaving

The City of Memphis, he worked part-time for a private employer until he became ill.

Michael was a hardcore sports fan who loved every minute of every sport, golf, and baseball included. During his leisure time, you could find him at home, in his favorite robe, locked in watching sports on TV, or old western shows like the

Andy Griffin Show. Having the Sports channel was an absolute requirement. He loved representing the home teams, the Tennessee Titans, the Memphis Grizzlies, the University of Memphis Tiger Basketball, and his baseball team, the New York Yankees. You could say that “he wore, enjoyed, and supported the blue.”

Michael enjoyed spending time at home with his wife, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

His home was where he wanted to be the most. Of course, if you stopped by when there was a homecooked meal prepared, you were “Always welcome to get a plate.” He made sure his family enjoyed every minute on holidays and family vacations! Michael mainly was quiet when he first met you, but it wouldn’t take him long to find his footing on any topic, and that’s how he engaged in the conversation. He knew a lot about a lot of things.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, with whom he spent a total of 50 years, Constance Shaw of Bartlett, Tennessee, two daughters, Kimberly Shaw of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Candice Atkins of Cordova, Tennessee, two sons, Jermaine Harding Shaw and Brandon Shaw of Bartlett, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; U.S. Army Sgt. Darion Clements (Britney) of Fort Bliss, Texas, Jeffrey Rushing, Jr., Ashley Williams, Aljalon (Jalon) Williams, Taniah Dowden, Ra’Sean Robinson, Jayden Atkins, Jermyah Harding Shaw (whom he and his wife helped raise), and Chloe Atkins, four great grandchildren, Braylon and Bryson Clements, Kaiden Williams and TaRique Walker all of Memphis, Tennessee, his sister Janice Holloway, sister-in-law Sandra Franklin, both of Memphis, Tennessee, four Brother in laws, Kenneth Allen, James Wells, Eric Wells (Clara), of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kevin Harding (Anita) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
