Michael Angelo Acey was born on June 6, 1956, to the late Thelma Lee Acey in Memphis, TN. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Orange Mound. Michael attended White Station High School and Melrose High School, where he received his high school diploma in 1974. After graduating from high school, Michael relocated to a residential group home in Union City, TN, where he lived for several years. He was well-liked and respected by the staff and the residents. He was later relocated to a residential group home in Bolivar, TN, where he resided briefly prior to his transition.
Michael enjoyed watching and discussing basketball, football, and boxing events with his uncle David and the staff and residents at his group home, eating meals with and talking to his sister Virginia (Nan) during her frequent visits, and spending quiet time alone. He also enjoyed participating in the group home’s annual Olympic events. During his years of participation in the Olympic events, he achieved special acknowledgments and was awarded certificates for Most Athletic, Most Valuable Player, Outstanding Leadership, and Best Resident.
To cherish his memories, Michael leaves his sister, Virginia N. Acey, his uncle David L. Acey, Sr. (Yvonne B. Acey), his niece, Brittany A. Cole (Alex Cole), his aunt, Johnella Acey, and other relatives and friends.
Michael Angelo Acey completed his earthly mission and ascended to his eternal home on March 20, 2025.
