Life’s Reflections

Mr.Larry White Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on August 4, 1949, and passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was a proud graduate of Melrose High School, class of 1966, where he began a journey marked by faith, family, and a commitment to uplifting those around him.

From an early age, Larry professed his hope in Christ, embracing life with a spirit of gratitude and joy. He would often begin conversations with the heartfelt proclamation, “This is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.” His unwavering faith was further reflected in his mantra: “Keep praying, Keep praying, Keep praying.” After re-dedicating his life to Christ, he proudly displayed a customized license plate that read “He Will,” a testament to his steadfast belief in God’s promises, which became his unofficial moniker for over 45 years.

Larry enjoyed a long and successful career in retail management, distinguished by numerous promotions and accolades, including being named Manager of the Year for a corporation with over 6,000 locations. His leadership and dedication inspired many, and he left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the communities he served.

A true music lover, Larry held a special place in his heart for the legendary Michael Jackson, whose music accompanied him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford White II and Lola B. Hawes White, and his brothers, Anthony Ryans Sr. and Clifford White III. Larry is survived by his siblings: Kim White and Karen White. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Darryl White (Monica), Kevin K. White (Kimberlyn), Larry White Jr., Steven White, Sr., Darrell Echols, and Denyne Wilson. Larry was also a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his warmth and wisdom.

Larry’s life touched many, and he will be remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His compassion and faith were constants in his life, offering comfort and encouragement to those around him.

In honor of Larry’s life, we invite all who knew him to celebrate his memory and the profound impact he had on so many. May we all carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and relentless positivity.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalms 23
