Joseph Levi Shelton Jr. was born April 26, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Joseph Levi Shelton Sr. and Joyce Reeves. Joseph aka “Joe/Cricket” confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Bountiful Blessing Church Temple of Deliverance under the leadership of the late Bishop GE Patterson.
Joseph attended Fairley High School where he graduated class of 1985. He is also a graduate of Delta Tech. Joseph served in the United States Navy in 1986.
February 19, 2009, Joseph Shelton married Kisha Walls and had two sons; Joseph Levi Shelton III and Kingston Amer’e Shelton.
Joseph Levi Shelton leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kisha Shelton four sons; Kylon Jones and Jolen Jones of Memphis, Tennessee, Joseph Shelton III and Kingston Shelton of Horn Lake, Mississippi, one daughter Charity Ragland of Horn Lake, Mississippi, two other sons Jayshun Hall of Memphis, Tennessee and Trevion Walls of Horn Lake, Mississippi, two sisters; Pamela Shelton of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Vasanta Hooper of Southaven, Mississippi, three brothers; Mario, Christopher, Burford of Memphis, Tennessee and Gerald Payne (Jackie) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.

I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life’s been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
