Helen’s Beautiful Journey
Helen Dockery Shead was born May 25, 1939, in Byhalia, Mississippi to the late Calhoun and Bessie Fant Dockery. She attended St. Paul School.
Reflections
She committed herself to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greater New Shiloh Baptist Church for many years as a former Usher, the Missionary Society, and the Mother Board.
She is preceded in death by one son, David Odell Alexander, a granddaughter Dominique Shead, four sisters; Dolly Myers, Fannie Dockery, Annie Mae Sholar, and Willie Mae West, three brothers; Calhoun Dockery, Jr., Hubert and Herbert Dockery.
Helen Shead departed this life, Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in her home.
Her loving memories will be cherished by her six daughters; Delores Doyle, Earlene Garrison (Cleotha) Augusta Anderson (Gussie) Selena Wright, Debra Wallace (Ovell), Cassandra Hoskins (Keith) and one son, Leon Shead, three sisters; Barbara Bell, Cleo Slayden and Maybell Dowdy (Raymond), one brother-in-law, Willie Sholar of Indianoplis, Indiana, one aunt, Olivia Clayton.
Mother Shead also leaves to carry on her spirit of love nineteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, three god-daughters; Doris Potter, Jackie Cole and Connie Hall and a host of other relatives and friends.
