Life’s Reflections

Mr.Gregory Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born on June 11, 1961, in his cherished hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnestine Scott Williams and Jesse Bethel Jr.

At an early age, Gregory professed his faith in Christ at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong journey rooted in his beliefs. He built a distinguished career, dedicating over 20 years as a Mechanic at Quebecor and later serving for 14 years as a Tech II at WAI. He was also a dedicated painting tradesman, finding immense joy and fulfillment in his craft.

Gregory departed this life peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2025, at 12:09 AM, in Memphis, Tennessee. His memory will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Diane Scott.

He leaves a profound legacy through his children: sons Danello (Tamika) Scott and Savario (Racquel) Scott, and stepsons Santonio (Deveda) Lenoir and Derrico Burbidge. He was a loving grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Gregory was the eldest brother of six siblings, and his presence will be deeply missed by Phyllis (Michael) Russell, Beverly (Charles) Fox, Chaulton (Jasmine) Scott, Tanga Scott, and Bemotis Williams Jr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his life.

Gregory’s life was a testament to his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and his abiding faith. He will be remembered for his love, his kindness, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Recessional

My Dearest Love,

It is time to say goodbye for now, and while my heart feels the sadness of your absence, it is also filled with enduring love and sweet memories. Our life together was a journey we shared— through good times and challenging times— and our love remained a constant guide. I will miss you deeply, yet I find comfort in the beautiful moments we shared, which I will hold close forever. You were the best father, a devoted husband, a strong family man, and a man of unwavering faith. Your presence brought warmth and light to our lives. Until we meet again, my love, know that I love you to infinity. You rest peacefully now, and I’ll carry you in my heart until we are reunited.

Love, Your Wife Diane

A Father’s Enduring Legacy

My dad wasn’t just a hard worker, but a heart-working man too. He was only about 5’8”, but he stood strong, and his strength was unmatched. Don’t get me wrong when I say these things, because he was as humble as they come. He was a provider for his family like no other, a giver to any, and a friend to everyone. You see, my dad was made special by God. Blessed were his feet that carried me through many trials. Love was his native language. Heart of gold? No, try heart of platinum. He was a man’s man. God gave us all this legendary man for a time. He was God’s love physically through a man, and now his job is complete.

We miss you, Daddy.

A Cherished Life, A Lasting Glow

With love from your Siblings, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins

A blessed life, a radiant soul, You walked in light, you made us whole. Your faith, a flame that gently burned, A guiding star, wherever we turned.

You scattered hope like seeds in spring, With kindness blooming in everything.

A smile so warm, a heart so true, Your love was constant, always new.

You labored with hands, with heart, with grace, Never still—no idle space. For family, your roots ran deep, In every promise you made every effort to keep.

Family gatherings, though not each day, Were sacred times along your way. Reunions echoed with your pride, You stood with joy and arms open wide.

Your fried fish—golden, crisp and fine—

Made every gathering a joyful time. You sang with heart at every feast— Off tune, yet cherished, joy released.

To cousins near and cousins far, You were the center, our brightest star. Swapping tales beneath old trees, With laughter flowing like a breeze.

From lawn chairs circled under skies, To storytelling with twinkling eyes, You made each moment feel sincere— A bond of kinship is ever clear.

To us—your nephews, nieces bright— You brought such joy, pure love, delight. Games of chess, a domino dare, Your playful spirit filled the air.

You were “the fun uncle,” bold and free, Turning moments into memory.

Though seldom fussed—when you did, a thunderous hum,

A gentle storm we’d smile from.

A sportsman through and through you stayed, In lakes and woods, you laughed and played. With rod and reel or hunting gear, Your joy in nature drew us near.

And Sundays echoed with your voice, Cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, your team of choice.

To your siblings—through over six decades strong, We built a bond both deep and long.

From childhood’s days to grown-up years, We shared our lives through joy and tears.

Shared holidays, lessons, joy and pain, Your laughter shined like the sun through rain.

Not just our brother, but our friend—

A love that lasts beyond the end.

Now your earthly steps grow still,

But your spirit soars, it always will.

In the hush of prayers, in tears we shed, In stories of the life you led.

We’ll miss your joy, your generous spark, Our gentle giant, soft and stark.

Though heaven holds your soul in peace, The love you gave will never cease.
