As we rejoice the life of our loved one, let us not be sad, for she is home now and resting with perfect healing. We would like to thank Methodist University Hospital, Signature Health, Ashton Place Rehabilitation Center for all you’re doing, as well as everyone who sent food, cards, calls, flowers and your loving support. A woman so strong, so sweet and so dear.

Mother, you are my heart, my trophy that I kept so near.

Doing my daughter duties was an apart of my job.

Can’t believe you’ve left me in the midst of this fog.

You had a smile that would light up a room.

Your love will forever run deep in me from my soul to the moon.

No matter what, you kept a smile on your face.

When hard times came that smile couldn’t be erased.

You brought me into this world and gave me life, and through it all, you never left my side.

Dinner daughter dates and mommy daughter times, I’m going to miss that so much.

Your sweet kisses, sweet hugs with the softest little touch.

You raised me into the woman I am today and all the memories and good times will never be replaced.

You were a warrior, a fighter, and ran the race soon as the gun went off.

Then God said it’s time to come home, lay down and cool off.

You went through so much, a lot, a whole tons, but if not in nobody else eyes in mine’s you won.

Your favorite color was white, and you was an angel already.

I’m a grown woman, but I’ll always be mama’s baby.

When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see, if the sun should rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me.

Mrs. Gracie Lee Exton Kennedy was born July 24, 1953,

in Memphis, Tennessee to Mrs. Birdie Mae Fletcher and the Late Mr. Lawrence Norfleet. She departed this life, November 8, 2017, at Ashton Place Rehabilitation Center.

She accepted Christ at an early age at New Philadelphia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dumas.

She attended Melrose High School and was employed at Mid Continent Inn and later promoted to management over all regions of the Midsouth.

She was united in holy matrimony on July 30, 1982, to the late Albert Kennedy, Sr. for thirty-one loving years.

Gracie leaves behind a family who truly love her and will miss her everlastingly. She leaves behind two kids; Kenneth Exton and Tashelia Kennedy, two grandkids; Kijuan Harris, Aubrie Kennedy and one greatgrandchild, MelKala Harris, her loving mother, Mrs. Berie Mae Fletcher; and one loving sister-in-law, Imogean Grayson.

I will always have memories of you as the wife, friend, companion and comforter of one I loved dearly (Albert) You had your way of showing your love, and to me, this was a blessing. I’m thankful for the times I had to talk to you and console you during your time of illness. You never complained but was always concerned about others. As time pass and I think of you, the memories of you and all that you meant to me will bring smiles and joy to my heart. I thank God for you being a part of the family and the love we shared. I will always think of you with love in my heart.

Back With You Again Reunited with my husband

Oh, my I’ve missed you so much, waiting patiently to feel your touch.

Four years ago you had to take a trip, but I knew I would be coming to get another kiss.

I’ve been lonely, but I wasn’t worried because I couldn’t rush and leave our kids in a hurry.

You’ve watched over me from up there above, and my eyes lit up Wednesday when I walked through these doors.

My husband, my king, I’m so happy to see you again.

Now our everlasting love will never ever end.

It’s been four years you had to let me go for a while, but now I’m here so we can continue our ride, Through thick and thin, sickness and in health, till death do us part now it’s time to finish this journey that we once did start.
