Beyound The Sunset (Should You Go First)

Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone I’ll live in memory’s garden dear with happy days we’ve known In spring I’ll wait for roses red when fades the lilacs blue And in early fall when brown leaves call I’ll catch a glimpse of you Should you go first and I remain for battles to be fought Each thing you’ve touched along the way will be a hallowed spot I’ll hear your voice I’ll see your smile though blindly I may grope The memory of your helping hand will buoy me on with hope Beyond the sunset oh blissful morning when with our Saviour heaven is begun Earth’s toiling ended oh glorious dawning beyond the sunset when day is done.

Should you go first and I remain to finish with the scroll No less than shadows shall ever creep in to make this life seem droll We’ve known so much of happiness we’ve had our cup of joy And memory is one gift of God that death cannot destroy I want to know each step you take that I may walk the same For someday down that lonely road you’ll hear me call your name Should you go first and I remain one thing I’ll have you do Walk slowly down that long long path for soon I’ll follow you In that fair homeland we’ll know no parting beyond the sunset for evermore.

Not Enough Time

The time we had, Dad, Wasn’t nearly enough To pack in an entire Lifetime of love.

There are so many questions That we need answers to, But now that you’re gone There’s no way to ask you.

But there are still photos To remember you by, Each time we look at them, We still want to cry.

They say grief is easier to bear as time goes by, But that doesn’t stop us from wondering why?

Why our dear, sweet dad Was taken so soon, When he was our guiding star, Our sun and our moon.

There are no answers To a question like this, So We’ll cherish your memory, And mourn the years we’ll miss.

Thinking of You with Love We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.

We think of you in silence, we often speak your name.

All we have are memories, and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part.

God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts.

A million times we`ve wanted you.

A million times we cried.

If love could only have saved you, you never would have died.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

But you didn`t go alone.

For a part of us went with you... the day God called you Home.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day, God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same.

You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide.

And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.

Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

Glenith Bernard Calvin Jr.

was born April 12, 1974 to Suong “Lelee” Calvin and Glenith Bernard Calvin Sr. He confessed salvation in Christ while attending Jubilee COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Askew.

Glenith Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie B. and Vassie Calvin and Aunt Regina Calvin.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Latrice Calvin, seven children; Robert Payne, Darrian Gray, Demetris Calvin, Glenaye Calvin, Glenith Calvin III, Goldie Calvin, and Thao Calvin. His father, Glenith B. Calvin Sr., his mother, Suong “Lelee” Calvin, three sisters, Glenda (Dewayne) Dotson, Regina Calvin, and Gennifer (Chris) Thornberg. One brother, Antonio (Tabitha) Calvin, His mother in love, Elizabeth Hardaway, and father in love, Pastor Robert Hardaway, two sisters in love, Rotarcha (Arthomas) Jones and Cherry Hardaway and one brother in love Antonio (Valencia) Nelson, two grandsons, Kylon and Kaeden Payne, two God daughters, Marla Nichols and Regan Wage, one God son, Messiah Burks. Several uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family members.

Please dont say that I gave up Just say that I gave in.

Dont say I lost the battle For its God’s war to lose or win.

Please dont say how good I was But that i did my best Just say I tried to for whats right To give the most I could, not less.

Please dont give me wings or halos, thats for God to do.

I want no more than what I deserve No extras, just my due Dont be concerned with me now Dont talk about what could have been Its over and done Just see to all my family’s needs The battle has been won When you draw a picture of me

Last Request Dont draw me as a saint I’ve done some good, I’ve done some wrong So use all your paint Not just the bright and light tones Use some grey and Dark In fact, dont put me down on canvas, Paint me in your heart Dont remember all the good times But remember all the bad For life is full of many things Some happy and some sad.

But if you must do something Then I have one last request.

Forgive me for the wrongs I’ve done And with the love that’s left Thank God for my soul’s resting, Thank God for all who loved me, PRAISE GOD who loved me best
