Life’s RefLections

Glenda Ann Renfroe-Harris, the daughter of the late Elige and Dorothy Renfroe, was born on February 22, 1957, in Greenville, Mississippi. The family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, around 1966, where Glenda attended Mallory Heights Elementary and later graduated from Tech High School. She received several certificates and accolades while continuing her education with some college courses.

In 1974, Glenda welcomed her first son, Marvin Damone Renfroe; five years later, she was given a second son, Mario Corteze Harris. After two sons, she finally was blessed with her only daughter, Tiffany Latrice Harris in 1981.

Glenda’s children were growing, and she decided to accept employment at the Internal Revenue Service in 1984, holding such job titles as a clerk, tax examiner. While continuing work with the IRS, she became a foster parent through the Department of Children Services, Senior Service, which is currently Meritan for over 20 plus years.

In 2001 Glenda was overwhelmed with the love she felt for her foster son. By the end of 2001, she had decided to adopt her third son, Isaac Aaron Harris.

In 2004 she was struck again when she welcomed her fourth son and baby boy, Darrious Braxton Harris, aka “Button.” He would be; “The last button on her coat.”

After 34 years of service with a government agency, Internal Revenue Service, Glenda retired July 31, 2019.

She departed this life, Thursday, October 3, 2019, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Proceeding her death is her father, Elige Renfroe (1998), sister, Brenda Faulkner (2008), and mother, Dorothy Renfroe (2015).

Her life and legacy will be cherished by her children, Marvin, Mario (Crystal), Tiffany, Issac and Darrious, grandchildren; Lapria Matrianna Harris, Marcus Renfroe, Teanna Camille Clark, and Marvin Damone Renfroe, Jr., her siblings, Lucille Mayfield, Doris Gathright, Robin Leggett (Steve) Malikea Currin (Johnny), David Chattman, Robert Renfroe, and Keshun Renfroe, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
