The family of Floyd “Smiley” Hollman have been incredibly blessed by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers exhibited to us during our time of bereavement. When it seemed our loss was too great to bear, we looked up, and our family and friends were there, with words, both written and spoken, with faces smiling and hearts open. You comforted us and shared our grief. “Smiley” was blessed with so many friendships, and we are blessed with yours.

Mr. Floyd “Smiley” Hollman, son of the late Sarah Moore-Hollman and Dave Grant, was born January 7, 1954, in Memphis, TN. Floyd confessed Jesus as his Savior at an early age and joined Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church. He later joined and served as an usher at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop G.E. Patterson.
Floyd was a proud graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1973 and served as a devoted football trainer for many years. In the late 1990’s a great honor was bestowed upon him as Grand Marshall of the Orange Mound Community, and he was given the nickname “Mayor of Melrose.”
After marking 22 years at the Memphis Army Defense Depot, Floyd retired and then marked at Memphis Light, Gas and Water as a security officer before relocating to Las Vegas, NV. While living in Nevada, Floyd became ill and decided to move back to his home in Memphis, TN. Floyd fought a good fight; he finished his course, he kept the faith and completed his early mission early Sunday morning, March 19, 2017, at the V.A. Medical Center after an extended illness.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 40 years, Geneice Hollman; his children Harold Robinson, Jr. (Bridgette), Tiffany Robinson, Minister LaTerrious Robinson (Precy), Asha Holliman, and Brittany Hollman-Love (Eric), his loving grandchildren; Tiara Robinson, Cameron Windom, Jeremiah Hollman, Eric Love, Genlyn Robinson, Jaroulee McGhee, Jamario McGhee, and Jessica Robinson: three great-grandchildren, one adopted son, Perrell Windom; one sister, Lois Wilson and two brothers, Johnny Moore and George Harris, one niece, Della Wilson; one aunt, Addie Moore; two uncles, Calvin and Sylvester Moore; his mother-in-law, Vera Reynolds; father-in-law. Jessie J. Benson; six sisters-inlaw, seven brothers-in-law, twelve uncles and six aunts, two godchildren, and three lifelong friends, Richard Rocker, James Faulkner and George Ford. A special mentor, Mr. Vertis Sails and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
