Life’s Reflections
Mr. Eugene Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, slipped peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Methodist University at the age of 91.
He confessed Christ as his personal Savior at an early age in Water Valley, Mississippi.
He was married to Dorothy Williams for 63 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
After 40 years of loyal service, he retired from Wissen Simmons Whalley and began working with his brother at George Williams Plumbing Company until the company closed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Louisa and London Williams; his sister, Eva Louise; his brothers, Guy Wright, George, and A.V. Williams; his son, London Williams; his granddaughter, Tamitha Shuree Caldwell; and his great-great-grandson, Shemir Lewis.
He leaves behind two daughters, Laura D. Caldwell and Angeline Eggleston, son Greg Williams, sister Ester Robinson, sister-in-law Joanie Williams, Magnolia Wright, Rosa Lee Burt, and Annie Burt-Becton, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren, and eighteen great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and a dear friend, Joe Small, with whom he frequently shared meals at Chow Time Restaurant and traveled the city streets.
His memory will be a blessing to all who know him.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
