DonaldWayne Hunt, a cherished husband, father, and friend, was born on January 7, 1949, to Johnnie and Marie Hunt in Humboldt, Tennessee. On February 6, 2026, Donald left this world peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, surrounded by love.
A proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Donald dedicated himself to serving his country in the United States Air Force, where he valiantly fulfilled his duty during the Vietnam War. His loyalty and commitment were evident in every aspect of his life.
On January 7, 1993, Donald married the Love of his life, Dr. Terri L. Hunt, forming a bond that flourished over 33 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with Love and laughter, raising four wonderful children: Donald Hunt II, Vanessa Stokes, Sean Davis, and Sierra Jackson.
Donald’s work ethic was unparalleled; he served 26 years as an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and continued his passion for aviation as a contract mechanic for nine years. His journey didn’t stop there, as he inspired countless students during his ten years teaching auto mechanics at Germantown High School through the “Troop to Teacher” program.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Johnny James and Annie Marie, and his brothers, Leroy and James Thomas Robinson.
Donald leaves behind a legacy of Love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dr. Terri L. Hunt, his four adoring children, Donald Hunt, II, Vanessa Stokes, Sean Davis, and Sierra Jackson and three brothers: John Hunt (Jennette), Malcom Hunt (Linda), and Charles Hunt (Bertha). He also leaves two sisters, Lonie Taylor (Louis) and Mary Jane Dawson (Leonard), his mother-in-law, Adeline Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA, his sister-in-law, Catherine Tilley, as well as Wendy Livous, Velma Marlene Jackson, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of loving aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Before his illness, Donald’s gentle strength, affection, and wisdom touched the hearts of many. He was a devoted member of New Direction Christian Church, where he warmly welcomed all, sang joyfully in the men’s choir, and contributed to the Golden Seniors. His spirit will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

“I have felt a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day.”

In the quiet of the morning, I feel you near, Your laughter echoes softly, a melody I hold dear. Through the years we shared, a love so profound, In every whispered moment, your spirit I have found.
You were my anchor, my rock, my light, Guiding me gently through each day and night. With every sunrise, I see your face, In the warmth of your Love, I find my place.
The memories we forged, like stars in the sky, Illuminate my heart, never saying goodbye. Your wisdom and kindness, forever will stay, In the hearts you touched, you’ll never fade away.
Though the journey ahead feels heavy and long, I’ll carry your Love with me, forever strong. In the garden of my heart, you’ll always bloom, My beloved Donald, you light up my gloom.
Until we meet again, my Love, my friend, In every cherished moment, our hearts will blend. You’re not just a memory; you’re a part of my soul, With you in my heart, I will always be whole.

You gave no one a last farewell, Nor ever said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, And only God knows why
A million times, we will miss you
A million times we will cry, You hold a place no one else can ever fill in our hearts.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God took you home.
We will meet again someday
We know in a better place
We thank God He made you
Our brother, while you were here on earth.
Live beyond words Missed beyond measure Always and Forever in Our Hearts
Lover Eternally,
Mary Jane & Pastor Leonard Dawson, Jr.

Today, we honor and say goodbye to a beloved brother, brotherin-law, and Nile. With heavy hearts, we are grateful for the memories we shared and the Love you gave to our family.
Though you are gone, your memory will live in our hearts forever.
Much Love, Charles Hunt & Family

From our early years, you always exhibited unconditional Love toward me and took up for me during neighborhood squabbles. You looked out for me during touch football and other family outings. You had a unique way of giving your nephews nicknames, such as “Truck Head, Hot Dog Head, and Jimmy Hart.” You also had a distinct way with words and phrases while demonstrating wisdom and Love. I was also very proud of you when you became a deacon and a man of God. I will miss you and will see you on the other side.
Love, Mack
Donald, with heavy hearts, you touched our lives in countless ways. We remember the moments we shared and the warmth you brought to our families. Though you are no longer with us, your memory lives in our hearts forever.
Love, Lonnie & Lewis
Brother, since you passed away, life just hasn’t been the same. I would move heaven and earth to have you here with me again. I can shed tears that you are gone, or I can smile because you lived. Memories of your life meant the world to me because of the way you gave.
I am so grateful for the years we had and the closeness that we shared. Your thoughtfulness and support, and the way you always cared. You were a wonderful Brother, you were more than just family… You were a kind and supportive friend.

Love You, My Brother Johnny and Family
