Life’s Reflections

Born on July 28, 1950, in the vibrant community of Orange Mound, Memphis, Tennessee, Delbert was the beloved son of the late Edgar Washington and Verdell Echols Taylor.

From a young age, Delbert embraced his faith, accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior and being baptized—a commitment that would shape his character and guide his actions throughout life. Raised in the nurturing environment of Orange Mound, he attended Melrose High School, where he not only pursued academics but also formed lifelong friendships that enriched his life.

Delbert dedicated his career to serving others as a Produce Worker at Kroger, where his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic made him a cherished colleague. After years of hard work, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service.

On July 6, 1997, Delbert married his beloved wife, Delores Bradford Echols. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey of love, sharing more than 27 wonderful years filled with laughter, support, and countless cherished memories. Their partnership was a true testament to the power of love and commitment.

Delbert’s zest for life was infectious. He found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was savoring a good cig or enjoying a thrilling day at the casino. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he proudly cheered for his team, bringing family and friends together in spirited celebration.

Known by all as a genuinely good guy, Delbert’s warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a source of joy and comfort, always ready with a smile and a kind word. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Alvin Taylor, but he leaves behind a loving family that carries his spirit forward.

Delbert will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Delores, his beloved daughters, Stephanie and Monica, his two cherished grandsons, Malcom and Christopher, and his granddaughter, Adrian. He is also survived by two brothers, Reginald Taylor (Rebecca) and Kenneth Benson, his loving sisters, Joyce Mickey, Paula Campbell (James), Pamela Amos (Harold), Marlene Todd, along with two aunts, Eunice Bradford and Lou (Sherwin) Holloway and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who adored him.

Husband

Rest in peace my dear Delbert. Your light will forever shine in our hearts, and you will be cherished and remembered always.
