I remember you in this solemn hour my dear Mother. I remember the days when you were here on earth, And thy tender love watched over me Like a guardian angel. You are now gone from me, but the bond which unites our souls can never be severed; your image lives within my heart. May the merciful, Father reward you For the faithfulness and kindness you have ever shown me; may He lift up the light of His countenance upon you and grant you eternal peace. Reflections Reflections of Life
BrendaJoyce Alsobrooks Holt was born November 7, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee to Charlie Alsobrooks Sr. and Marjorie Campbell Alsobrooks and was the only child born to this union. She confessed her faith in the Lord Jesus at an early age at New Era Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank Brisco and later Rev. Sampson Townsend Sr. While at New Era she served faithfully in the Celestial Choir. She later joined Golden Leaf Cathedral under the leadership of Bishop Dandridge Wilborn and at present Pastor Vinvecca Gray where she served until her demise. At Golden Leaf, she served in many ministries such as Discipleship Class, Bible study class, the Fellowship Ministry, Kitchen Ministry, Mass Choir, Women’s Chorus & Department and Ministerial Armor-bearer.
She was a proud graduate of Melrose High school {The Golden Wildcats} class of 1966 and was a faithful member of the alumni. In 1967 she married Leonell Wheeler and to this union, one son was born Fidarrel L. Wheeler. In 1974 she married Ronnie L. Holt Sr. and to this union, one son was born Ronnie L. Holt Jr.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marjorie Campbell Alsobrooks and Charlie Alsobrooks Sr. A very special cousin Aubria Jean Shelton. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Fiderrel L. Wheeler, and Ronnie (Lenora) L. Holt Jr. Two grandchildren: Naquasha (Jarvis) Riser and Larry McGarity. Two great-grandchildren: Giselle Riser and Emery Riser. Two brothers: Charlie Alsobrooks, and Antonio (Wanda) Alsobrooks. One sister LaTonya Milam. Two Aunts: Verneda Campbell Breathett and Elaine Campbell. Two very special childhood friends Joyce Kneeland, and Jean Allen, and a host of cousins, nephews and a niece.
