Mr. Bobby Granderson was born on August 18, 1963, in Arlington, Tennessee, to the late Robert Granderson and Nancy Ransom. He was raised by his grandmother, Sally Granderson, affectionately known as “Moma.”
He departed this life on June 20, 2026, at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. Bobby confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Olivet Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Zedric Clayton. He remained a faithful member until his health declined.
Bobby worked as a welder throughout his career and retired from Trumbo Incorporated. He was also a devoted and diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Granderson, sister, Gwen Granderson and his beloved aunt, Juanita Williams.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children: Tamica Granderson and Breunna Granderson and a stepdaughter, Tarsha Green of Memphis, Tennessee; LaShaunda Smith and Bobby Granderson Jr. of Springfield, Illinois; and ten grandchildren: Nicholas Warfield, Anaja Smith, Talaya Booze (Dorian), Malik Simmons, Zaavan Smith, Curtis Dorsey, Bobby Granderson III, Aaidyn Lopez, Aaryon Granderson, Aamir Granderson. He also leaves his devoted godson and caregiver, William Payne.
He also leaves to cherish his memory twelve siblings: Michael Russell; Dayle Haley of Springfield, Illinois; Patricia Russell; Rodney Ransom (Cassandra) of St. Louis, Missouri; Evelyn Carter (Ricky); George Ransom (Linda); Eddie Ransom; Lorraine Granderson; Carl Granderson; Douglas Granderson of Memphis, Tennessee; Gary Granderson; and Michael Granderson of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves a beloved aunt, Texanna Armour; uncles, Billy Russell and Robert Russell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
