Life’s Reflections

BarbaraMichelle Saulsberry Harrison entered the world gracefully on July 20, 1966, to the late John and Annie Saulsberry.

Barbara, affectionately known as “Bobbie Shell,” confessed a hope in Christ under the leadership of Rev. E.L. Fox at St. Paul Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of New Fellowship Christian Church under the supervision of Pastor Dwight L. Saulsberry. She served as a choir member, President of the Beautification Ministry, and as the financial secretary until her health failed. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a dedicated church member. Barbara enjoyed shopping, singing, and spending time with family and loved the essence of the Christmas season.

She attended Southaven High School and graduated in 1984. She continued her education and graduated from Northwest Community College and Strayer University. Nike employed her for 25 years.

Barbara met the love of her life, Micheal Elias Harrison, and married on March 6, 1990. They had 33 wonderful and loving years of marriage. They instilled in their children the power of faith, the importance of compassion and love, and a solid commitment to family. To their union, two exceptional children were born, Miccah and Michael.

Barbara, in the comfort of her loved ones, departed her earthly life at Methodist Germantown Hospital and entered peacefully into eternal rest on October 27, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Saulsberry, her brother, Steve (Robin) Saulsberry, and her grandparents, Willie and Gladys Flynn & Henderson and Elizabeth Saulsberry.

To My Wife

Though her smile is gone forever and her hand I cannot touch I still have so many memories Of the one, I loved so much. Her memory is now my keepsake Which with I’ll never part. God has her in his keeping I have her in my heart. Sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Mom,

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life, we loved you dearly; in death, we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.

For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Your Bink & Bubba

Mom and Dad gave the command that we always stick together, and because of that, Barbara made sure our bond never tethered. As the oldest Sister, on so much you knew best, you guided us many days until your rest. So we thank you for the ties you used to bind us to our family tree; whether it was dessert wars, Secret Santa, or themed dinners, you gave us what we needed.

Bobbie, Barbara, Bobbie Shell, Aunt Bobbie, on many names you have stood. No matter what we called you when we called -we knew you would answer us with such glee, especially when we asked, “Would you come decorate for me?”

Christmas season, definitely you were about; if you couldn’t put up at least 12 trees, then your face would surely pout. So we joyously opened our homes or churches and let your hands run free because there was nothing more beautiful than one of Barbara’s Christmas Trees. You never asked for much, as what you did came from the heart, and in your honor, we will continue what you did start. Sister, we can hear your sweet voice: “No need to cry, but with family dinner and décor, just remember me.”

Love, Your Siblings

The family of Barbara Michelle Saulsberry Harrson would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the many kind and thoughtful expressions during our time of bereavement. At this time in our lives, it is people like you, our faithful and loyal friends, who make our pain and our void so much easier to bear. We can’t thank you enough for your prayers, cards, visits, meals and words of encouragement and other acts of kindness during this time. . You enrich our lives each and every day and for that, we are eternally grateful. Your kindness and expressions of love have supported us during this part of life’s journey more than you will ever know.
