The family of Aron Nesbit would like to thank every one of you for the outpouring of love you have showered upon us. We are blessed to be surrounded by so many friends and loved ones who have embraced us with prayers, telephone calls, cards, support, and food. The burden we bear has truly been lightened by you taking the time to let us know you care. Your kind expressions of sympathy and friendship will always remain in our hearts.

A very special thank you to the medical staff at the West Cancer Center/West Clinic (Dr. Jason Chandler) and Methodist Hospice.

To our St. John M.B. Church family and to the Brown Baptist M.B. Church family, thank you for all of your support and kindness.

Aron Nesbit

was born November 11, 1943, in Olive Branch, MS. He was born to the late Andrew Nesbitt and Magnolia Wilson Nesbitt. He received Christ at an early age.

He passed into the loving arms of the Lord on November 2, 2017, at his Whitehaven residence with his daughter and family at his side.

Aron was a graduate of Melrose High School, class of 1963, in Memphis, TN. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he met his late wife, Jessie, while he was on active duty and stationed at Whiteman Airforce Base in Knobnoster, MO. They were later married on July 2, 1966. To this union one daughter was born, Chareta.

They moved to Memphis as a couple and joined St. John, M.B. Church on Deadrick Street, under the leadership of the late Rev. L.D. McGhee, Sr. Aron was a faithful and dedicated church member. He was a member of the Trustee Board, Sunday School, male chorus, and gospel choir until his health failed him. He loved his high school classmates of Melrose H.S. He was always a part of any activity that allowed him to show his love for the “Golden Wildcats.” He was a founding member of the Ural B. Adams Memorial Foundation, Inc. He was employed with Universal Life Insurance; Firestone and Con Agra (Hunt-Wesson) where he retired around 2003.

He was truly a hero to the many who admired and looked up to him. He was called by many, a “fighter” because he battled stage four cancer for 15 years. Aron Nesbit will always be a “hero” on this Veteran’s day and those to come.

He is survived by his daughter, Chareta; his siblings: Bettye Nesbitt, Ruby Butler, Earnestine Mosby, Neomia (Kelvin) Jamison, Thomas (Mittie) Nesbitt and Johnny Spencer, all of Memphis, TN. He also leaves brothers Willis Spencer of Houston, TX; David Spencer of Dallas, TX; Abraham(Pat) Nesbitt of Modesto, CA; and a God-son, Daeshaun Ross.
