LTribute ove of I always thought that I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you. Now I know that you were meant to spend the rest of your life with me. You loved me until the day you took your last breath, and I know that you’ll keep loving me until we are together again.

Life’s Reflections

Amos Lee Marshall was born June 29, 1940, in Piperton, Tennessee, to Annie Bell Lewis and George Andrew Marshall, who preceded him in death. No siblings were in this union. Amos was united in Christ at an early age at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Rossville, Tennessee, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Watkins. He was a truck driver by occupation for more than forty years!

Amos was united in matrimony to Susie Arnold Marshall for 56 years. To this union were born two sons and two daughters: Kenneth L. Marshall, Sr., Tony T. Marshall, Marcia R. Crutchfield, and Tamika L. Martin. In his previous marriage was born one son, Andrew L. Marshall, and one daughter, Annette P. Nelson, who preceded him in death.

Amos was dedicated to his family and loved them.

He also loved trucks and trucking. Many of you will remember him by his CB name, “Superhound.”

He leaves in remembrance, his loving wife, Susie, ten children, Irving Franklin, Maryann (Julius) West, Maurice Reed, Andrew Marshall (Rock Island, Illinois), Chester Reed, Marcia (Curtis) Crutchfield, Kenneth (Rita) Marshall, Sr., Teresa King, Tony (Portia) Marshall, and Tamika (Shandre) Martin (Jacksonville, Florida). He leaves one sister-in-law, Hilda (Benny) Holly, and one brother-in-law whom he loved dearly, Harris (Bernice) Arnold, Jr., who preceded him in death. Amos also leaves five dear friends; Elder Jimmie Hymes, Mrs. Lula Spivey, Mr. Otis Dodson, Jr., Mrs. Freddie Orr, Mr. Walter Rayborn, and twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, special cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Losing

you was by far the hardest thing for me, but yet it was even harder to watch and know that you were silently suffering. You were every example of what a man is and was to me for 40 years. I wish there were more like you. You were my hero, my daddy, my giant, my GPS, and my weatherman. I’ll never forget the things you taught me or the many talks we had. When I grow up, I pray that I’m at least half the man you were.

Love, Courtney

You had jokes for days and wisdom for centuries. Even when you didn’t know what you were talking about, you spoke with authority and confidence. The bond we had is irreplaceable. The memories we made are unforgettable. The fact that I will forever be daddy’s baby girl is undeniable. Missing you daily, but grateful your soul has been set free.

Love, Tamika
