January is the month the Williams clan takes our annual ski vacation at Whitefish Mountain Resort located jut out side Whitefish, MT. This year was attended by Mom, my wife Michelle, my son Gerik, Myself, Sister Elizabeth and her husband Craig, my daughter Jordan and her family consisting of her husband Isreal, and my granddaughters Rowan, age 5, and Metztli, age 2, and sister-in-law Lynnette and her significant other Greg. We all packed into one house where everyone could ski in and out to the lifts.

#1 - Help

The people we help are our Clients, Team, Community and Vendors.

We help by listening and by being present during our interactions. Our expertise is in Productivity, Creativity and Learning.

Gerik skied with the Dream Adaptive program again this year for the first two days and then with his uncle Craig and I for the third and fourth day choosing to take the last day off. Every one of the eight years we have had him ski there he has had the same instructor, Bob, pictured holding the harness Gerik uses to help him stay in control. It is one of the great joys of my life to see Gerik on skis and get to be there with him. I know my dad must be pleased.

This was Rowan’s third year on skis, the first being extremely brief at age 2 and after two days of lessons she took off. In fact she became so independent that when her dad Isreal told her she could ski anywhere on the run she decided that meant anywhere on the hill and was spotted by a Ski Patrol after she took a side run off the chair they were skiing together. She told the Ski Patrol her dad said she could ski anywhere she wanted. She knew the chair they had been skiing together and they returned there to be reunited with Israel. This story has already become family folklore!

If you are a long time reader you know that time with the family on our vacations is of high priority to Michelle and I and our whole family. My parents are the ones that started the tradition of large family vacations skiing and camping. Right after college and our marriage we made them part of our families tradition.

After all, in the end life is about family and friends, not how hard or long you work or how much stuff you have.
