My name is Jeremy Soh. I am currently a Year 3 student pursuing a diploma in Interior Architecture and Design in Temasek Polytechnic. I am a keen learner and like to explore concepts and ideation, transforming thoughts and vision into reality. The idea of how your physical environment can affect the way you feel and move through a space has always inspired me to envision unique and interesting designs that are refreshing and outside of the box for people to experience in the space.

To create a space for a smoothie barista, using the the alleyway as an interactive space for the public while promoting healthy living. Different ingredients are used to produce a smoothie as much as the space brings people together, a community that promotes connectivity and diversity. Use of vibrant colours to contrast the shades of white along the shophouse, with a rhythmic flow of organic shapes following the structure of fruits, smooth texture from the smoothie and natural greenery to show harmony.

The intended design is to create an open space that connects the people as much as it connects the space. To bring diversity and connectivity to the community, bringing people together creating connection and harmony from both sides of the alleyway.

By using stacking effect to create organic shapes of fruits to promote the fruit smoothie store. The shapes creates harmony in the area with its various shapes and layers. The design makes use of the walls along the side of the alleyway as structure thats connects between the different levels, creating a unique and vibrant design for the client.

DESIGN STATEMENT To create an enriching environment for learning and fellowship, to have connections between the children and the spaces. Through the influence of Islamic Architecture, repetition of geometric shapes by stacking and interlacing to emphasize on religion through the spaces. Incorporation of openings through the facades and use of natural material such as wood to show connection between nature and the space, promoting liveliness and vibrancy.

Throughout the floors of level 1 to 4, the spaces and function are seemingly connected to a common corridor linkage. This helps create unique shapes and forms; however the functions seems connected yet separated from each other.

“Home is where the heart is”

DESIGN STATEMENT To create a transparent central point that represents the people of Bedok.

Taking upon a skeletal structure of proportion, symmetry with a seamless flow that connects function that resembles a circulatory system. Large clear facade to represent an exposed skeleton of a human body and natural greenery to allow building to be cohesive with HeartBeat Bedok. Together being the very heartbeat of Bedok, bringing the community together.

Collage consists of the Vitruvian Man which represent proportion and symmetry.

The heart represents the true purpose of the office which is to serve the community.

The flow of function and spaces throughout the building like a circulatory system, creating the idea of private and public spaces throug bubbles.

The collage consists of the representation of the office where it represent an exposed skeleton. Despite skin and color, we are all flesh and blood, with a heart.

Clients of the social service office are those of the less privileged and less fortunate, often shun away from the public. This is to show community really means, by understanding and caring for each other.

I like to take film photography of my friends and my environment in my free time.

Through film I am able to capture a moment with all its essence and emotions frozen in a picture frame. Film feels raw and timeless.
