Evolution of Kiryu Kazama

Kiryu Kazama is the main protagonist of the Yakuza series since the first game. He is just a man who found himself surrounded by controversy wherever he goes. No matter what, he cannot escape his ties to the Japaneese mafia, or Yakuza amd is forced to fight to defend his life and his future family.

Yakuza 2005 Kiryu’s First appearance. He was only 27 years old.That is until he is framed for a crime he didn’t commit and spends 10 years in jail. Now he is 37 years old.

Yakuza 2 2006 Yakuza 2 takes place only one year later making him 38yrs old.

Yakuza 3 2009 Kiryu is 39 years old in this game, but the new and improved visuals make him look much older. Yakuza 4 2009 Despite releasing in the same year as the previous game, Kiryu has much more detail in his face and animations. Yet he is only two years older, at 41 years old.

Yakuza 5 2012 Kiryu is now in HD quality, which allows for much more detail to go into his face and animations. He is 44 yrs old here.

Yakuza 6 2016 Marking his final appearance as the main protagonist, Kiryu is now 48 years old, yet maintains much of his youth.
