August is the best month of the year to visit Farmers Markets, if you ask me! Freshly-harvested Tomatoes. Sweet Corn, Green Beans, Peppers, Concord Grapes, Watermelon, Peaches....mm, mm, good! Is your mouth watering yet?

What kind of Famers Market Shopper are you? Do you do a walk-around to identify the best produce and prices, or do you buy as soon as something catches your eye?

My FAVORITE August Recipe

Sooooo Good!

Pasta with Fresh Tomato Sauce INGREDIENTS 2 1/4 pounds unrefrigerated ripe tomatoes 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves 1 tablespoon flat-leaf parsley Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

2 garlic cloves, chopped 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper 1 pound spaghetti or spaghettini

Directions. Finely chop tomatoes, basil, parsley, and garlic, and mix together with oil (or pulse ingredients, including oil, in a food processor to blend). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Add pasta, and cook until al dente. Drain pasta, and toss it in a serving bowl with the raw sauce.

Seriously! I've been making this recipe every August (and many times each August!) since I first discovered it in a Martha Stewart Cookbook years ago.

Having access to fresh tomatoes makes this absolutely delicious! (And it is great the next day, too.) I've added cubed ham, feta cheese, and olives on occasion, YUM-O!! Try it, and let me know what you think!
