Letter from the Editor Hey guys! I'm the new Jersey Village Key Club Editor for the 2018-19 school year! I feel that this was a great year of volunteering and productivity for the club. Additionally, I'm grateful for the people Key Club has introduced me to and the many volunteering memories that I will carry on with me. I'm also very excited that I have been given this opportunity and I'm anticipating a great year ahead! Overall, I hope to grow and improve through, and along with the club! In the mean time, have a great summer! Yours in service, Jennifer Finley

President's Note 2018- 19
FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENTS
3
Hey Key Clubbers!!! What an amazing year we had during 2017-2018! From the food bank to the bubble run it was a great year full of service. We couldn’t have done it without y’all! Thanks to all of the members who were hard working and dedicated, YOU are the people who shape Key Club and give meaning to what our club really is. As your 2018-2019 presidents, we are extremely excited to continue this success. We have many exciting things planned for this upcoming year and we hope you enjoy your time in Key Club. With that said, service does NOT stop once the school year ends. There will be events made in the summer and if you can’t go to them, there’s always other things outside of Key Club that you can volunteer at. Make sure to get out of your house this summer and enjoy the fresh air while volunteering. Have an AWESOME summer! Yours in service, Arianna Garza and Patrick Tran

May Event Recap Dean Homecoming Extravaganza BGZTV to Houston, TX Serve Team: Serving Breakfast to the Homeless Reed Festival

Key Club Banquet
Dean Homecoming Extravaganza MAY 5TH, 2018 " The Dean Homecoming Festival was an extraordinary experience for all former Mustangs. Staff greeted the volunteers with delight and, we were given the jobs of working carnival booths in the hallways, or helping with club showcases. Afterwards, we were treated with a basketball game and volleyball game with Mustangs and former Mustangs, in the school's new gym. In addition, despite the bad weather, the festival to appreciate such an amazing school was a success. "
- Ian Hernandez, 10th
BGZTV to Houston, TX MAY 5TH, 2018
" I had the opportunity of welcoming Lao comedian BGZTV into our wonderful city, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Due to the fact that the event was even at a Lao temple, I was able to fully immerse myself in the food and people. The experience truly exceeded my expectations and further introduced me to a different culture. "
- Khanh Van Nguyen, 12th

Serve Team: Serving Breakfast to the Homeless MAY 12TH, 2018 " The experience was eye-opening and tender in the way that it exposed and brought us (the members) into contact with the homeless people that we weren't accustomed to/ familiar with interacting with. It was extremely intimate connecting and communicating with them. For, I developed a far stronger understanding of their situations and overall personas, not to mention the bonds I felt that I created with them. I will never forget the people I met that day, nor the conversations I had with them. The event was truly amazing. "
- Kamil Kalowski, 10th
"Humbling, Eye-opening, Heartwarming."

- John Phan, 10th
" My experience at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen was very eye-opening. While there. other members and I, walked around the area and talked to several homeless citizens. Our reasoning to walking around was to encourage them to come eat breakfast. In the end, the turn out was great and it was pretty crowded. To conclude, as a result of being face to face with the people that I was helping, I genuinely felt like I was making an impact on their lives. "
- Elizabeth Finley, 10th
Reed Festival MAY 19TH, 2018
" The Reed Elementary festival was a very enjoyable way to spend your Saturday afternoon! I was given the chance to spend time with kids and play in many bouncy houses with my friends and other members. This event allowed me to see many of the kids' personalities and enjoy the little things. I am very glad I got to volunteer for them! "
- Cindy Vo, 9th
