President's Note June Recap
Contact Information Social Media
President's Note Hey awesome members! As we begin the upcoming month, we wanted to remind you that service never stops!! Make your summer count by volunteering and interacting with friends. We have many events coming up like the Cypress Doggie Triathlon and a car wash. Funds we collect through events like our summer car wash helps us host service projects and goes towards events like district convention, so make sure to go out and volunteer. The joy and happiness that comes from volunteering puts a smile on everyone’s faces and smiles are a positive attribute to our world today. We couldn’t do any of this without y’all and we are thankful to everyone staying active during the summer months. Remember to stay cool in this Houston heat and stay safe during our hurricane season! Have a splendid rest of the summer!!
Yours in Service, Arianna Garza & Patrick Tran PS: Email jerseyvillagekeyclub@gmail.com if you have any suggestions on events you would like to volunteer at!

THE FUN IN THE SUN SOCIAL JUNE 1ST, 2018
" We had the Fun in the Sun Social on June 1st to kick off the summer. It was held at the Post Elementary pavilion from 1 to 4 after school that day, and although there wasn't a bunch of Key Clubbers there, we had an amazing time. We had some really fun activities, but they wouldn’t have been as fun without all the people who attended. To start off, we had a water balloon fight, and played with water guns. Additionally, we made a homemade slip and slide with tarps, water, and soap. Later, we blew up floaties and slid on the slip and slide with them. Some people even used them as chairs later on while we all sat and talked about the school year and how everyone had been. Another game we played was slip and slide wrestling, a couple of people who participated were really good at it and kept on knocking people down. When everyone was tired out, we munched on snacks in the middle of the social and sat in a circle while people talked about what they were going to do this summer. Afterwards, we played a little more and then everyone started to say their goodbyes as we picked up all the toys and supplies we had just used. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I had a lot of fun and I can’t wait for our next social."

JUNE 13TH, 2018 " Like always, I really enjoyed my time helping out at Undies for Everyone. With a group of less than 15 people, we successfully sorted and packed 7,500 pairs of underwear. I honestly could not hope for a better experience with my fellow Key Clubbers at Undies for Everyone, and I cannot wait to go back! " - Ivy Zheng, 11th

The Divisional Council Meeting JUNE 15TH, 2018 " On Friday June 15th, I had the honor of co-hosting my first Divisional Council Meeting (DCM) with the other LTGs in our Division. At this meeting, we discussed upcoming events, the duties of an officer, and ways to improve the membership in our clubs. DCMs are a great way to network and learn new ways to become a better Key Club member. I advise all of you to take the opportunity to come to my next DCM to meet people from all over the division. "

Due to the constant accessibility of indoor plumbing and clean drinking water at our convenience, many of us may forget that not everyone also has these luxuries.
In fact, the shocking reality is, 663 million people on our planet lack access to safe, clean drinking water!
That's why The Thirst Project works toward eliminating shortages of water by building a socially-conscious generation of young people. And by educating students about it and encouraging them to help the clean water cause, we can build real water projects all over the world.
Clean water means: LESS DISEASE, FURTHER EDUCATED STUDENTS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, and overall a BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE.
