From the General Manager’s Desk Greetings LCC Members! As I sit in my office at the end of LCC’s opening day and smell the aroma from the kitchen, hear the laughter in the hallways and see the parking lot filled with vehicles, I can’t help but smile and think about the future of LCC. Many clubs around the nation are closing their doors or going public, but LCC is pushing forward, remaining financially secure and positioning itself to be the local leader of the pack. It is an exciting time to be a member of Losantiville Country Club. Members enjoy the area’s finest golf course, outstanding food and beverage, a growing membership and a team of professionals who are focused on fine-tuning the service and facility. Golf News By Chad Gilligan, Head Golf Professional
I would like to sincerely thank the membership of Losantiville Country Club for the opportunity to be your Head Golf Professional. I am very excited to get to know the members and to provide an exceptional golf experience. The staff and I look forward to elevating the golf operation here at the club. We will open the Golf Shop on March 1st, with the golf course and practice facility to open as soon as the weather will allow. We are in the process of giving the Golf Shop a bit of a makeover and hope to have all of the work completed by early March. The golf instruction and tournament program will be another exciting part of what we have in store for you this season. We anticipate very few changes to the posted tournament schedule for 2014. We are planning to add some weekly golf clinics for all ability levels as well as adding to the junior program. I will have further information regarding member tournaments and golf instruction for you in next month’s newsletter. I will own the Golf Shop concession and will have a great selection of equipment, apparel, and accessories. I am very excited to provide the membership with this service and will be excited to assist with all of your golfing needs. We will offer competitive pricing to either match or beat the big box stores on all golf equipment, shoes, bags, and balls. All apparel and accessories will be offered to members and their guests at 15% off of retail pricing. If you do not see your size or would like to special order any item, we will be very happy to order it for you. Again, thank you for this outstanding opportunity as I am very excited to be here and to have a chance to get to know all of you. James Edward Sparks
Michigan. He moved to Cincinnati at a very young age and later attended Norwood High School. James worked his way up in the kitchen at Crest Hills working under Chef Teal and then Chef Bob. James started as a dishwasher, moved to the pantry then sauté station, and finally became the Assistant Chef. Outside of Ohio, James has traveled quite extensively. He has been on seven cruises to such wonderful places as Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Mexico. In the states, James has visited Tampa, New Orleans, Orlando and Alabama. James has two children, Sarah who is 16 and Josh who is 20. He also has a fiancé, Christine, who is from Mt. Healthy. James loves animals, and currently has three ferrets. Additionally, he has a rescue dog, Sadie, who is a Chihuahua! James absolutely LOVES baseball! He is a Cincinnati Reds’ fan who has quite an extensive baseball card collection. James recently turned his spoon collection over to his daughter. In his spare time, James enjoys the outdoors and swimming. He misses playing softball now that his friends have all gotten too old to play! When asked what James likes the best at LCC, he quickly responded, “The Chef.” James says, “Chef Bob gave me a life forever. I can take his training and knowledge and go anywhere.” Fortunately for us, James is happy at LCC and says that his coworkers make LCC his second family.
