Jennifer Croce General Manager As a blanket of snow covers the course and wind swirls in the air like steam from hot chocolate, it is evident that winter is officially here. With winter come the holidays that we look forward to all year as a time to spend with family and friends. Our members kicked off the 2014 holiday season by filling our dining room for the LCC annual Thanksgiving feast! To continue the celebration, LCC’s December calendar will feature a Taste of Winter, a Holiday Brunch and Toy Drive and finally our traditional Hanukkah a la carte dinner with Chef’s famous potato latkes. At a time of year when we offer thanks for all that we are grateful for, there are many thanks to give. I’d like to start by thanking LCC’s members for their ongoing continued support of their Club. Additionally, the LCC Board and committee members certainly need to be thanked for their loyal service and dedication throughout the year. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank each and every staff member for the hard work and loyalty they have shown throughout the year.
It has been an exciting year at LCC with the hiring of a new general manager, golf professional, assistant golf professional and caddy master! Now that the entire team has seen a season at LCC, we look forward to embracing traditions, introducing new events and continuing to serve our members as we plan for 2015 during our winter shutdown. With that in mind, I ask that if you have any suggestions for next season that you submit them to me directly at Jennifer@losantivillecc.com. I welcome all of your comments and suggestions as we work to create a club filled with camaraderie, sport and laughter. This past year also brought with it an exciting partnership with the University of Cincinnati’s Lady Bearcats golf team. The ladies’ team has been a great addition to the Club. The membership enjoyed meeting and cheering for Coach Janet Carl, Assistant Coach Brian Alderson and the Lady Bearcats during their 2014 season. We look forward to seeing the team again next season and wish them all the best success! If you are staying in Cincinnati for the winter, we’ll see you throughout the month of December. If you are traveling, we wish you safe travels. Either way, be sure to follow us on LCC’s website and Facebook pages which are listed later in this edition. We now have seen snow, frost, wind, and rain. December is here, some members have headed south and west and some of you will remain to brave the winter months. Through this mini burst of winter the golf course has held up exceptionally well and we have had a good amount of play on the days that have allowed us to get out. We will keep you informed of the course conditions and closings as much as possible during Ohio’s unpredictable winter months. The Caddie Banquet was held on Friday, November 21st and was very well attended and was enjoyed by all. We had 63 caddies, guests of caddies, members, and staff at this year’s event, which was a record, according to most. Thank you to all of the members who support our caddies and the exceptional caddie program that we have here at Losantiville Country Club! We have the largest percentage of caddie rounds in the city for a private club, based on total number of rounds played, be very proud of your caddie program. The Golf Shop is stocked and ready for your gift giving needs for the Holidays. If you are planning to special order any items for the Holidays, please have your orders in by December 9th to ensure on-time delivery. If the item needs to be logoed please allow an additional week for on-time delivery. All in stock 2014 Golf Clubs and Golf Shoes are On Sale!! Most all clubs are marked down 30-60% off the retail price! All shoes are 10% off of the member price. Your credit book earnings will expire on December 31st, so please be sure to check your balance to ensure you do not forfeit your winnings. In the coming weeks and months Steve, Kevin, and I will continue preparing for the 2015 season. We will be sending out the 2015 Golf Calendar in the near future. Recently, we went through the club storage room and assessed your golf clubs, grips, golf bag, head covers, and shaft labels. If your clubs were here you should have received our comments by now in the mail. If you had your clubs with you please feel free to bring them in to be assessed. If you need anything at all please do not hesitate to ask any of the Golf Shop personnel as we would be happy to assist you!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Unbelievable Aces!!! Mr. Mel Kreitzer has played a lot of golf over the years and had never had a Hole-inOne, until Tuesday, November 4th. Mr. Kreitzer was playing the 17th hole from the white tees at approximately 142 yards and hit his 7-iron just short of the green and he and Mr. Jacob Moskovich witnessed the ball track right into the hole for his first ever Hole-in-One! Just four days later, on Saturday, November 8th, Mr. Kreitzer again made a Hole-in-One, again on hole #17, again from 142 yards, and again with his 7-iron!! What an unbelievable feat and Congratulations to Mr. Mel Kreitzer!!

Naomi Depappe Naomi learned about Losantiville Country Club through our Evening Sous Chef, James Sparks. I remember the day she came to the Club in February 2014 for an interview. She had a big smile, was clearly motivated and was bound and determined to get an interview with Chef Bob. She did get that interview, and she was hired on as a Garde Manger / Pantry Cook. Naomi was a great addition to the culinary team and has been honing her skills since the day she was hired. Prior to working at LCC, Naomi worked in a bridal shop and at Tres Belle Bakery where she decorated cakes. Naomi was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio with her sister, Genesis, who is currently attending Norwood high school. Naomi also attended Norwood High School and went on to study Journalism and Politics at Miami University. She enjoys writing about politics as it allows her to give her opinion on political affairs while staying aware of current events. In addition to writing about politics, Naomi enjoys reading about them. In fact, her favorite book is 1984 written by George Orwell. When not reading and writing, Naomi likes to travel. She has gone to Chicago, IL, Daytona, FL and Emerald Isle, NC. On the home front, Naomi would really like to travel to Colorado and Puerto Rico. However, she truly dreams of traveling abroad – specifically Paris! France would actually be a great training place for Naomi who dreams of one day becoming an Executive Chef. When asked what she likes the best about Losantiville Country Club, Naomi responded that it was a really great place to get started in her culinary career and has been a great learning opportunity. She has been able to learn the basics and looks forward to more responsibility in the future. When Chef hired Naomi, he hired a winner, and we are very pleased to have her as a member of the Losantiville team. Keep up the great work Naomi, and maybe one day you’ll be writing an article about opening your new restaurant in Paris, France!
