LETTER FROM YOUR GENERAL MANAGER Dear RCC Members, It is unbelievable that the snow is gone, the birds are chirping, the trees are blooming and the course is open. If you are out of town, it is time to come back! If you are in town, do come to the course for 9 or 18 holes and enjoy a ride around the course in our brand new fleet of golf carts. A special thanks to the grounds crew and pro shop for getting us up and running so early in March! While the grounds and golf crews were gearing up for the golf season, the clubhouse staff has been readying the clubhouse, going through training, creating new menus and getting ready to welcome members back to the Club. Although we are still in the off season, our dining rooms have been filling up nightly as members come out to enjoy the culinary team’s offerings in the warm, inviting atmosphere that is RCC! Changes? Yes, there have been changes. There have been changes made in order to raise the bar and create new excitement while retaining old traditions. As the staff goes through these changes, we ask for your feedback and support so that we may continue to provide you with a home away from home atmosphere. Yes, you will see new dishes on the menu, but if one of your favorites is missing, please let us know so we can adjust our menu selections to meet the taste of the membership. We are here to serve you and look forward to learning more about your needs, wants and desires so we may incorporate them into our daily operations. While we prepare for season, please pardon our appearance as we put a new patio around the half-way house, repair and open the pool, clean and touch up the exterior of the clubhouse, put tennis nets up and create a new lush landscape at the entrance of the Club. We will be as discreet as possible so we do not negatively affect your Club experience. It is an exciting time at Rockford Country Club. I am very proud of the staff and all they have accomplished. Of course, we could not accomplish anything without the continued support of our membership. Thank you for your support, emails, kind words and ongoing utilization of the Club. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you at the Club. Regards, Jennifer Croce ABOUT ELENA’Syou BOOKcertainly won’t want to miss this one! If you missed ourSOMETHING first wine dinner,

It has been a long winter but the 2012 golf season is upon us. Your golf shop staff and outside service team are as excited as ever to get going! Looking forward to this season my goal again this year is to assemble a first class, highly service-oriented golf staff. The Rockford Country Club golf experience will continue to raise the standard, operating with “service as our main focus. Rockford Country Club is pleased to have Ryan Niffenegger returning for his sixth year. In addition, Ali Gorman and Sydney Rumple will be our part time summer help as retail assistants. New to our team this year is Luke Johnson and he will be serving as an apprentice learning how to become a golf professional. Our outside service staff will once again be lead by Terry Weaver and Ralph Powell. Members can once again look forward to first rate demo days, creative sales and a strong teaching program in which the professional staff continues to seek knowledge to be the best in Rockford. Over the winter we upgraded the program with Video technology that will be used regularly on the range. Surly this will lower those scores! There will be a great mixture of competitive and casual events so please sign up at the golf shop. This season will play to the same tune as past years in which my main focus will be to market the club using a few key points; the facility which has never looked better as a whole, the membership with its genuine warmness and the first rate service team from top to bottom. By writing local golf tips for the Rockford Register Star and having the news out to showcase everything from our first rate caddie program to teaching tips we will be known as a wonderful spot for our membership and future members to enjoy! Golf Grip Promotion The Golf Season is here and the time has come to bring your golf clubs out of hibernation. Although you may be ready to attack the links at full throttle, the golf club may not be quite so ready. After the long playing season we were fortunate to have in 2011, we at the Golf Shop would like to make sure your clubs are in the best condition to get those low scores you seek in this wonderful game. The best way to give your clubs that “new feel is to regrip at the start of the season. rips?

On March 16th there was a Tritle Trophy (West) competition in Tucson, Arizona. The Tritle Trophy was presented to the Lady Golfers of Rockford Country Club by Fred Tritle (President 1908-1921) in memory of his wife Angeline. It is to be awarded each year to the golfer who averages the 10 lowest net scores of the season. Lots of fun was had by all! Submitted by: Judy Mott
