Eight-year-old Sajna from rural India cannot go to a formal school. That’s because during regular school hours Sajna must stay home to do chores and support her family. The wonderful news is that Sajna is still learning. Only it's happening at night time. . . when most children might be getting ready for bed. Instead, Sajna and her friends gather around a lantern in the dark

At night school, Sajna can forget about her tiresome day, and feel her age again –spending precious moments reading and learning so that she has a chance at a brighter future. This program is run by our local partner, Barefoot College.
