Write down all of the social impact ideas that come to you capturing one idea per post it. Once you’ve completed that, put them on a wall or a piece of flipchart paper.

Let’s say you have 25 ideas. Put them in groups of 5 rows and for each grouping, put them in order based on which one resonates with you the most down to which one resonates with you the least. Do this based on listening to your heart. Don’t judge how hard or easy you think implementing this social impact idea will be.

Continue doing that for each grouping of 5. From there, take the top 10 (the first two rows of each) and put them on a separate piece of flipchart paper Now do that same exercise. Split them into two groups of 5 and rank them again in order of what’s most important to you again. Step back and look at the top 4 ideas. Which one calls to you the most? Take action toward that one.

For an entire week, be hyper observant of what social impact issues jump out at you It might be an article you read, a documentary you watch, something in the news or a conversation you have with friends

Every time it happens, write it down in a notebook or on a piece of paper Be sure it’s something you can carry with you wherever you go.

At the end of the week, look through your notes and see if any patterns emerge. Did one or two social impact topics keep coming up? If so, chances are you are meant to do something in that area.

Hunger is that deep desire you have inside of you to make an impact This typically falls into one of three categories

The first one is “No, not that” This is something that you feel should be stopped or discontinued This is usually something that is felt viscerally that’s hard to be withdomestic violence against women, gun violence, environmental devastation, etc.

The second one is “More of that”. This is something that already exists in the world that you feel should be expanded or enhanced and you have an idea that can make that happen

The third one is “Something’s missing” This is a hunger where you see a gap in the market. You have an idea for a product or service that doesn’t exist that would create amazing social change.
