As fungi are commonly grown in clusters , the ceiling baffles represent a sense of community in the workplace, relating to the growth pattern of fungi. The irregular circular shapes are placed in a huddled manner with lines that waver and radiate around them. Varied heights of the baffles create density .

Indirect biophilia is incorporated into the workspace through the abstraction of fungi . Fungus works as an antimicrobial + antibacterial + sound absorbing material. It is fabricated through circular economy , using biodegradable fungal mycelium and upcycled textile residue waste.

The objective for this project was to design a cake shop inspired by Dinara Kasko’s algorithmic cake, “ Cloud Cake ” within The Standard Hotel, to serve as a cozy “ third place ” where customers can feel a sense of community and indulge in high-quality desserts.
