The Grow Africa Foundation was created by Jenman African Safaris and Hideaways with the aim of making a positive and sustainable impact on the environment, society and economy in the places we visit.

Dingani Primary is a rural school in Zimbabwe, close to Hwange National Park. As well as supporting a variety of conservation awareness projects and school maintenance programs, our foundation supports the school through the following initiatives:
Early Childhood Development Teacher
The ECD class at Dingani typically has in excess of 100 students aged 3 to 5 years old and only one government subsidised teacher. The Grow Africa Foundation is looking to maintain the ECD teacher position at the school long-term.
You Can Help: By sponsoring a teacher’s salary at US$200 a month
Dingani Scholarship Fund
More than 50 % of the students cannot afford school fees (US$ 30 / Year). In 2019 the Grow Africa Foundation awarded scholarships to 12 students and in 2024 we intend to increase this to 14 students.
You Can Help: By sponsoring a child’s education for one year with a donation of US$ 30
Project Penya:
Each year we supply a set of washable sanitary pads and panties to every Grade 6 girl at Dingani Primary, allowing them to continue coming to school during their monthly menstruation. This is accompanied by an invaluable 3-day life-skills workshop for the whole class covering topics as diverse as health and hygiene, conflict resolution and leadership. As part of our pledge to support local businesses, the washable pads are made for us in the community.
You Can Help: By buying a set of washable pads for a Dingani schoolgirl (US$ 25)
Rosmead Primary in Cape Town is close to our office and close to our hearts. The Big Five Club, made up of Jenman volunteers, visits the school weekly to assist with the school’s aftercare and Jenman provides transport for educational day trips and local hikes. In 2019, with the help of the Belgotex foundation, we re-surfaced the preprimary playground, giving them a green and safe space to play. Our next fundraising initiative is for a much-needed dining area for the children.
You Can Help: By donating to the Rosmead Primary School dining area appeal
The Grow Africa Levy contributes towards education, conservation and community upliftment in the Hwange area. This ensures the area and its surrounds are secure and protected
With every booking received to the value of R10 000 or more, R50 (5$ or EUR5) is donated to Grow Africa. This covers all our overheads and contributes to developing, launching and subsidizing new projects.
You Can Help: By booking a Jenman African Safaris holiday!
We have an experienced and diverse team of dedicated individuals who use their unique skills to ensure that clients’ holidays are everything they have ever dreamed of and more.
Your Experience, Our Expertise
From Operations to Sales, from Marketing & Product to Accounting, each member of the team contributes their passion and expertise to the overarching goal of providing the ultimate African safari for our guests. Absolutely everyone plays an essential and vital role. We believe Jenman African Safaris and the African tourism industry is not just a job – it is a lifestyle with purpose.

Their choice of itinerary is expertly escorted by one of our experienced guides who will make sure to share their knowledge, passion and insider tips with our clients.
As the people who have the most face-to-face contact with our guests, our guides are our brand ambassadors and are therefore selected with much care. With consistent glowing reviews and valued positive feedback, we are incredibly proud of our team on the road and in the African bush!

We offer a diverse range of Guided Group Safaris throughout Southern Africa, East Africa and Madagascar.
These tours are expertly designed for travellers who want to see the highlights of a country, or in some cases multiple countries, with like-minded people. With set departure dates, these safaris are curated to make the most of the best game-viewing seasons, and are often more affordable than a tailor-made tour. Skilled guides provide valuable insight along the way and enable guests to experience the true beauty and allure of the African continent.
A professional guide leads the group throughout their journey. All our qualified guides have been carefully selected to provide an exceptional safari experience for our guests.
Most breakfasts and dinners are included and are provided by the lodges’ restaurants. Lunches that are included will either be prepared by the guide as a picnic lunch or will consist of a lunch pack. On some occasions, the guide may prepare a traditional open-air meal around the fire for a wonderfully authentic African experience.
Our Guided Lodge Safaris offer mid-range to slightly up-market African lodge accommodation in national parks, concessions and other places of interest. Accommodation is a mix of lodges, chalets, and tented chalets –all with private bathrooms. Wherever possible we use smaller, authentic lodges rather than big hotels for a more intimate experience.
On some of our safaris an additional park or activity fee may apply. This fee will be payable prior to travel along with (and not included in) the main tour fare. Examples include entrance fees to national parks and other attractions, as well as for local guides or miscellaneous items such as fresh fruit from the markets we visit. This fee is indicated as Park Fees and Activities in the brochure under the tour’s rates.

Seeing the wildebeest migration in East Africa is one of the most spectacular wildlife sightings in the world. Almost two million animals roam the plains of East Africa, but it can be surprisingly hard to find them in the vast area that they cover as their movement is governed by the rains and predicting their location can be a gamble.
We designed the itinerary to include all areas frequented by the migration on their annual route – this virtually guarantees that you will see them.
