I have always used Mother’s Day to celebrate people in my life who nurtured me. My mother, aunts, and grandmothers of course. But also those who have encouraged and nudged me along—and, believe me, there are a lot of those people.

As a mother myself, I know I cannot possibly be everything my children need. And I hope they will rely on teachers, mentors, entrepreneurs, artists, whomever offers them the warm, welcoming arms of a mother. This Mother’s Day, we celebrate with an ice cream that I think represents mothering virtues: Chamomile Chardonnay. It is full, rich, and tastes of oats and apples—warm and welcoming.

Flavor Our ice creams are loaded with the nuance of beautiful ingredients from a tight network of growers we’ve worked with for years and know by name. From our dairy families to fields of strawberries and sweet corn, and drums of honey to Fair Trade ingredients, including coffee, vanilla, and chocolate.

Texture It’s that fine-grained grit between your tongue and the roof of your mouth. Texture is what we excel at— it’s why our ice cream is so smooth and creamy.

Body Body is one of the distinguishing features of American ice cream.

We like to serve our ice cream hard and roll it into a tight ball.

The perfect ice cream is dense and slightly chewy, and melts slowly like buttercream.

Finish Milkiest Chocolate A tried-and-true marriage of grass-grazed milk, mounds of Fair Trade cocoa, and wildflower honey. A milk-first chocolate ice cream made with lots of evaporated milk for flavor and chewiness.

Our ice cream leaves your palate with a clean finish. We don’t use stabilizers because they dampen flavor and leave behind a sharp chemical taste. We want the clean flavor of dairy and our incredible ingredients to linger on your tongue.

We’ve been working with The Peach Truck for years to make fresh peach jam for a sweet, salty, creamy ice cream that’s southern comfort by the spoonful.

Roasted Strawberry Buttermilk $12 Mike Hirsch’s gem-like strawberries are so concentrated with sugar that, when roasted, they explode with intense strawberry flavor. This is why we trust the owner of Ohio’s Hirsch Fruit Farm to grow berries just for us. Perfect strawberries we pair with fresh cultured buttermilk for a tart and bright ice cream.

Goat Cheese with Red Cherries $12 Mackenzie Creamery, a family-run creamery in Northeast Ohio, makes the best goat cheese we’ve ever tasted.
