THE BROADWAY
A collection of 258 exquisite apartments set within the former New Scotland Yard site, this super-prime development represents the pinnacle of prime London living Picture an exclusive location in the heart of SW1; striking architecture; panoramic views; beautifully finished, high specification interiors; and the sort of amenities you’d expect in the finest London hotels. All this – and so much more – is on offer at The Broadway, where contemporary design, five-star, hotel-style facilities, and seamless service combine in sublime fashion. The extraordinary development is the most recent super-prime project unveiled by renowned luxury property developer Northacre, in soughtafter St. James’s. Working with architecture and design practice Squire & Partners, the team has transformed the former New Scotland Yard site, creating a collection of one-to-five-bedroom apartments and penthouses spread across six striking towers, with all apartments offering incredible views of the iconic London skyline. Residents benefit from 24-hour security and concierge services, a games room, screening room, and superb private wellness facilities that include a 25 m heated indoor pool, state-of-the-art gym, and serene treatment rooms. In addition, the mixed-use development offers sophisticated office space and, at ground level, Orchard Place, an exclusive community of carefully curated food and lifestyle retailers – a thriving, vibrant local neighbourhood for residents. The external aesthetic here was inspired by the surrounding art deco architecture, including the nearby 55 Broadway, designed by Charles Holden. Designed in pairs and named after three of the world’s most revered diamonds – the Sancy, the Paragon and the Cullinan – together, the towers create a pared-back, contemporary response that draws upon the period’s jewellery, fashion, and opulence, with distinctive diamond-shaped panels and oversized geometric windows gracing the façades. Inside, contemporary interiors boast generous ceiling heights; vast, light-loving 40 | FABRIC MAGAZINE | February 2024
windows; bespoke kitchens featuring Gaggenau and Miele appliances and Bardiglio marble worktops; engineered oak flooring with zoned underfloor heating; and comfort cooling in principal rooms. Excitingly, Northacre has worked with a team of award-winning interior designers, including the likes of Minotti London and Natalia Miyar Atelier, to create some of London’s finest showpiece turnkey residences here. The latest in the collection to be revealed is a show apartment from the London-based, internationally commissioned design firm Oliver Burns Studio. A cocoon-like sanctuary, the 1,625 sq ft, threebed apartment has been decorated in soft earthy tones. Layers of natural and organic design elements combine with elegant and sumptuous materials to achieve a sophisticated, quietly luxurious, and calming environment. Throughout the apartment the spaces have been meticulously curated, with contemporary yet timeless bespoke furnishings, produced by British artisans and design luminaries including ‘couture upholsterer’ Aiveen Daly, Rupert Bevan and Tom Faulkner. An exceptional collection of artworks orchestrated by consultancy Dellasposa includes lithographs, prints and sculpture. Bailey, Emin, Picasso and Warhol all feature, alongside rising and established artists Maggi Hambling, Guy Haddon Grant, Daniel Arsham, Tom Hammick, Nicholas Hughes and Alexander James Hamilton. Their pieces lend the space emboldening colour, clean lines and gestural abstraction, contributing to the sophisticated atmosphere. It is the epitome of thoughtful luxury. Prices for a one-bed apartment start from £1.645 million. The Oliver Burns Studio show apartment is for sale for £5.125 million, furnishings by request. For more details, see orchardplace.london/live
