Multimedia center Zadar, Croatia Redefining public space This project explores the way how ''PUBLIC'' can be intersected trough ''PRIVATE'' and trough more levels than floor level. Inner street pours from public open spaces and reverse. Basic idea is derived from floor lever. 1. Pedestrians flow downright from north narrow street filled with cafe shops, to lungo mare. 2. The tipology of center is derived from nearby houses, narrow long clean form, with open public space where pedestrian flow intersects in traditional roman 90 degree corner. 3. The INNER STREET connects public space with more intimate private spaces, and VERTICAL COMMUNICATIONS. 4. Same pattern iz used on upper levels, with OPEN spaces that can be used solo, or combined during summer, and CLOSED during winter, but public, with different content. 5. PENETRATING RED HOLES are emphasised in blueprints and on the facade with red frames that penetrate trough building volume. 6. Front and back facade where HOLES are not is covered in ALUMINIUM MESH creating an insulation protection on windows and coats the facade into monovolume. Reinforced concrete boxes 15x15 meters with cassette slabs. Detailed interior solutions weren't the theme of this project. Given renders are only for informational purposes. GROUND FLOOR - from open public square users can go to inner street from which they can enter offices, IT support shops, and banks. FIRST FLOOR - small congress room, art galleries with public gallery space and library. SECOND FLOOR - fitness center with open public workout square, and restaurants with open terrace. THIRD FLOOR - small local theatre, and cinema, with open public space for plays.
