THIS INSTALLATION COMMEMORATES the Edenville Dam flood that devastated the town of Midland, Michigan, on May 19th 2020. “Core Samples” are made from forest materials and discarded plastic items found in the aftermath of the flood. These materials were cast into concrete, plaster and resin cylinders along with mud from Wixom Lake which overflowed the dam during record rainstorms. The samples embody both the cause and effect of this extreme weather event. The pollution from constant manufacturing of products whose remnants are represented here lead directly to climate change and provoked the flood.
