Jeffery David Whippo Explains the Importance of Behavioral Interview Jeffery David Whippo explains the importance of behavioral interview. According to him, behavioral interviewing techniques provide insight into the way a candidate handled situations in the past and how they may act in the future. It is a technique that assesses a candidate’s ability to meet the job requirements based on the previous experience. Talking about behavioral interview, Jeffery D Whippo believes that the questions are more pointed, more probing, and more specific than traditional interview questions. Employers usually conduct non – technical behavioral interviews to find the best candidates. According to him, with the behavioral interview, it is very important to understand that there is no right or wrong answers. The interviewer is just trying to understand how the candidate behaved in a situation, and better yet, what they have learned from the situation. In a behavioral interview, there are no right or wrong answers, so focus on being genuine, kind, and thoughtful. Your first impression, even before the first questions are asked, is especially important since interviewers are susceptible to confirmation bias. Jeffery David Whippo opines that behavioral interview has the same format as standard interviews. What the interviewer wants to see from the candidate during a behavioral interview is for the candidate to respond the question identifying a specific situation, the tasks that needed to be done, the actions the candidate took, and what the results were.
