In addition to being one of the most walkable cities in the U.S. (#4, according to redfin.com) Philadelphia also has a robust public transportation network, easily accessible from our campuses. Every weekday, Philadelphians take almost 820,000 trips on SEPTA and PATCO buses, trains, trolleys and subways.

And if you’re looking to get a little exercise during your travels, there are INDEGO bike sharing stations throughout the city.

All the professional, cultural and recreational opportunities of some of the most exciting destinations on the East Coast are close enough for a day trip.

When it’s time to travel farther afield, the PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PHL) is only 30 minutes away from campus. It’s easily accessible with a quick commute by car, bus or train. Philadelphia is also home to 30TH STREET STATION (ALSO PHL), one of the busiest Amtrak hubs in the country. Only 10 minutes from campus, it offers affordable tickets to destinations up and down the East Coast and around the country.

And when you’re ready to really get away, take advantage of our many STUDY AWAY programs. Philly is our home, but the world is our campus. Our architects collaborate with students in China.

We study psychology and biopsychology in Denmark, industrial design and biology in Costa Rica, and fashion and interior design in Italy. For our Rams, this city has no limits, only opportunities.

Our men’s basketball head coach Herb Magee ’63 is one of only two men’s college basketball coaches with more than 1,100 career coaching wins. In 2011, he was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

You can find the work of Mark Sunderland, ’84, M’06 at the Olympics. He developed a whole-garment knitting process to produce the seamless uniforms used by both the U.S. rowing and skeleton teams.

Industrial designers Josiah Harris ’18 and Weston Rivell ’18 brought Ram innovation to the track by developing a cleat-style attachment for athletes with prosthetic limbs.

The College of Architecture and the Built Environment and several other programs partnered with Jefferson Health’s Center for Autism and Neurodiversity (CAN) to produce the interactive installation “Synesthesia.”

A team of our industrial design and architecture students and faculty worked on concepts for Sheba Medical Center’s “City of Health” initiative in Israel.

Our fashion designers and textile designers routinely collaborate to create unique collections, such as Ocean Awakening.

Pharmacy and visual communication design students worked together to produce materials to educate and inform rural communities about diabetes prevention and management.

More than 400 students and faculty from across all levels of our health programs came together to serve our community through the Jefferson Student COVID Volunteer Initiative.

Our occupational therapy students worked with visual communication design students to create a new kind of cookbook for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

We offer more than 160 academic programs at all levels of study from bachelor’s degrees to postdoctoral studies.

Understanding the critical need to rapidly develop and advance the skills and knowledge of scientists, engineers and technicians in bioprocessing and biomanufacturing, JIB provides a broad range of customized training in commercial single– use processing equipment.
