WHAT IS THE RED & BLACK? WHAT IS THE RED & BLACK?

The Red & Black is a student-run newspaper. It includes information about school and community events; interviews students, staff, and alumni; tips and tricks for success in school and life; with entertainment and fun along the way!

IS THIS THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE RED & BLACK? IS THIS THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE RED & BLACK?

It is not! The Red & Black is a long standing tradition at JCHS It was an established student newspaper for many decades before 2020, when it sadly faded away. However, instead of being created as a club (how it is now), the Red & Black was created as a class Several JCHS alumni, such as Mrs Lemons, Dr Fisher, and Mrs Nichols recall the Red & Black class being sought out and hard to get into, with prerequisites in Journalism required The Red & Black previously released issues every other Friday, and then monthly in its later years. It also had specialized issues, such as ones for Seniors, April Fools and Rivalry Games.

Red & Black issues from years past.

WHAT IS THE RED & BLACK'S MISSION? WHAT IS THE RED & BLACK'S MISSION?

The Red & Black strives to raise student, staff, and Jefferson City resident awareness about events to increase involvement: Jefferson City is an amazing place to live with a rich history, and Jefferson City High School builds on that history In addition, the Red & Black aims to increase student inclusion and staff appreciation! It also intends to provide entertainment and advice.

What are some expectations What are some expectations for upcoming games? for upcoming games?

Sports events are a fun way for students to get involved in school and have Jay Pride In order to do that, students must be respectful to their surroundings. For example, trash should never be left sitting in the student section or in the general stands. There are trash cans all around the stadium, and they are there for student use Students should always have good sportsmanship during these games as well. No vulgar language or signs are allowed during sports games Having Jay Pride can be enjoyable, but one must always be kind Next, make sure to dress appropriately while attending sports events Most home games will have themes, but school dress codes still apply to themed outfits. Help us make sports games fun for everyone!

The flag of the United Republic of Tanzania features a bright green and a vibrant teal color separated by a black stripe with gold edges. The green represents the abundant vegetation and nature of Tanzania's land. The blue represents the Indian Ocean, Lake Tanganyika, the Nile River, and various other bodies of water bordered by or contained in Tanzania. The gold borders represent Tanzania's ample mineral wealth, and the black stripe represents Tanzania's native Swahili people.
