STUDIO 4
Exploration of Design: Material in Focus The studio was about designing an experiential centre based on the workshop or any sensorial activity. The studio helped in getting into the details of every corner and how through detailing helps in making the design. It helped in understanding of the materials through detailing and also at the same time creating a experience for the same. Klay Play is an ceramic art experience centre where in one can get a hand on experience on making the ceramics and in the experience center the use of ceramic as a material to use the properties of it and creating an experience through material and the main characteristic of clay is that it can be moulded into different form, shape and size and so that was being translated in to the design and material came along with it
STUDIO 3
‘NOT A CHILD’S PLAY’ designing a school and understanding the psycology of the children is not a easy process. This studio helped in creating concept and evolving them at every stage. The process of breaking the notion of stereotyped spaces where the organization is disciplined and creating a new way of learning. It helped in developing spatial pedagogy and certain aspects where given an answer to like should every school should be disciplined or the how can freedom be experienced through the space. Little feats was an attempt in attending the above question and creating a primary school on base of two words freedom with discipline and curiosity. The concept of the school is to create an environment which welcomes both the diverse communities by giving them equal opportunity. The design idea comes the pedagogy only to give an extension to the ground which becomes a central line dividing studying and playing while merging them both.
STUDIO 1
In this studio I explored the potential of deploayble systerms of origami and scissor mechanism to design the multi-functional space which enhance the existing activity of the riverfront flower park. Radial arrays was an attempt at designing the structure which changes the context of the site and becomes an undulating interactive sitting spaces. This studio helped in understanding and analyzing the relation between the form, space and function through different exploration of strip based scissor mechanism which later developed into the surface and created the spaces in between which responds to the spatial needs of users. The studio also helped me in understanding the working details for the deployable structure thereby increasing the knowledge of materaility.
STUDIO 2
Reimagining the Vernacular The studio was an attempt to know, understand and represent the traditional and contemproray crafts practice in the form of narratives. The exercises helped me in creating narratives and visualizing and represeting them into different graphic styles, game and story format. The studio explores various methods of understanding and re-imagining the craft culture and narratives.
