Lamella Arch Comprehensive Construction Technology 2023

Project type Function Area Location Apps Used

: Individual Work, Mid Term Exam : Roof, Shelter : ± 96,25 m2 : Special Region of Yogyakarta : +

+

In this project is to provide an understanding of wide span structures, where there are different groups classified into distinct forms of wide span roofs. Based on theory and class material as the basis for the design, this design structure is formed by forming a half curve, one side of which is supported by a supporting system structure as a support for the lamella roof model. The design is provided dynamic and overlapping structure to give an attractive impression to the user, also the membrane is to keep the shelter comfortable warm and visible to see through.

AXONOMETRIC DIAGRAM The Lamella roof is a wide-span shade construction design popularized in the early nineteenth century by Zollinger, a German architect. A lamella roof is one method of shaping a single or double curved surface from an arrangement of element bars. This lamella roof is often used for wide-span cylindrical construction and even dome structures, which consist of structural system joints of rod parts made of wood, steel, concrete, or manufactured construction. The structure is provided additional curtains that stretch horizontally or rings on the domeshaped lamella structure to increase stability. Rise to Span Ratio (1/2) for semicircles and (1/8) for horizontal curves

Types and innovations of Lamella roof structure connections: The structural system can be seen as a collection of joints in the arrangement of bar elements, forming a grid pattern of two axes intersecting each other, also known as a skew grid, so that it becomes a parallelogram or diamond geometry, the pattern formed can provide a stronger structure to withstand long spans. Lamella roof connections are typically made with bolts or steel plates installed between each part. (a). Zollinger (b). Junkers (c). Hunnebeck (a)

Lamella Grid Element

The system is stabilized by an extra grid of overlapping rod elements. Acording the previous theory, The model produces a diamond-shaped grid. The semicircle is then divided into two overlapping sections.

Load Test

Single point load test

Distributed load test

Following the test, regardless of whether the load is at one point, several points, or evenly distributed over one plane or vertices, all loads will be distributed completely to each bar element or follow a diamond-shaped grid (or 3D helix) in the system in a compression force, because it maintains rigidity and thus the system remains stable. This is consistent with the concepts of active vectors, twoway structures, and lamella roofs, which each describe that the structure is a collection of rigid rod components that create a system with compression as the force.

Multiple point load test

Structural Analysis The lamella roof creates curves towards the supporting structure or ground, hence the nature of the load distribution on the system is compressive force, both from the system's internal load and external loads. The load distribution in the system occurs through each element of the lamella roof rod, and the load distribution is aided by the connections between the rods, causing the load to be distributed to each branch element from the connection, which is then channeled to the supporting structure or ground. In terms of Elements that can be added to increase the stability of the structural system, such as adding rod elements that cut the diamond shape, the grid pattern that is arranged can influence the strength and maintainance of the structure, so that in general it forms a diamond pattern or a symmetrical geometry.

Conclusion According to the results of this analysis, the structure's behavior is rigid, and when a load is applied, it will experience a comprehensive compressive force that is consistently evenly distributed throughout the system, resulting in torsional moment forces at the joints, which also strengthen the rod elements.

Kinetic Facade Parametric Design 2023

Project type Function Area Location Apps Used

: Individual Work, 4th Semester : Facade :: Special Region of Yogyakarta : +

This facade has computer parameters that adapt to the site's climate context towards the sun, with the facade elements rotating according to light or temperature as the sun hits the facade. This is particularly beneficial for developing sustainable buildings, especially in regions with a hot temperature that are exposed to sunlight all year; also, it efficiently maximizes natural light inside the building through computer-driven kinetic mechanisms. That mechanism of the facade allows to easily calculate such as glare, radiation, and UDI room.

50

Background Architects highly prioritize the facade during building design since it serves as the initial point of contact, demanding an appealing appearance to create a positive impression. However, while aesthetics play a crucial role, they alone don't guarantee comfort for the building's occupants. Various elements like climate responsiveness (heat, light, wind, rain, snow) need consideration for user comfort. Hence, an automated kinetic facade controlled by a computer can address these factors, ensuring both visual appeal and user comfort.

Issue As an architect who provides possibilities from various angles so that buildings optimally accommodate needs and functions, this kinetic facade can be one solution in making it easier for designers to calculate incoming sunlight such as glare, radiation, and UDI in the room, or the wind that surrounds it. building, so that it can provide comfort in the building for its users

CONCEPT The Kinetic Facade offers a practical way to manage incoming sunlight, including glare, radiation, and UDI (Useful Daylight Illuminance) within a room, along with addressing wind impact around the building. This system aims to ensure user comfort while enhancing the building's visual appeal.

DESAIN LOGIC Triangular Frame

The facade elements are automated to rotate based on sunlight or heat variations caused by the sun's movement, effectively minimizing heat and optimizing natural light inside the building. Its fundamental design comprises triangular elements assembled in a hexagonal configuration.

MOCKUP Shape Configuration

Forming a triangular geometry as the basis of the facade elements. Each of these triangles is made to be rotated so that this rotation will later be connected to the attractor. Array the geometry so that it becomes a hexagon. Providing attractor points on the facade groups that have been arrayed, these attractors are surface points in the direction of the sun.

Fabic Patio Gaung Bandung 2023

Project type Member Function Area Location Apps Used

: Competition, Group Work : M Bara Raharjo, Rakha Aryaguna : Public Spaces, Fashion hub : ± : Bandung, West Java : + +

Fabric Patio arises to cater to local fashion in Indonesia, particularly in Bandung, renowned as the "Paris of Java." Rapidly evolving fashion can help micro, small and medium enterprise, but it also brings a trend in the shape of fast fashion. Fab-tio provides a space for discussion and expression for young people in Bandung with a more colorful and fun sense of space to provide comfort and attract attention, so it is not only planning, but also taking action in the form of reusing fashion waste accompanied by landscaping games and portable kiosks container on the Cihampelas terrace, so that it will remain alive and sustainable against the times.

56

SITE ANALYSIS

Cihampelas Terrace has a significant potential as a gathering and discussion space for Bandung youth; nevertheless, this area is now of little interest to young people due to a lack of attractions that are appealing to young people. Several stalls on the Cihampelas terrace progressively closed down. The fast-fashion movement

generates a lot of fabric waste, which has a detrimental influence on the environment; it would be devastating if this is not handled and prioritized. Reusing fashion waste is one example of an implementation that can be carried out.
